First question I have for anyone who may know is whether or not he is even on the team anymore. And if so why has he not made any kind of impact on the field? Did he have a significant injury at some point that has set him back or has he just not lived up to expectations. With all the roster attrition we have seen under Frost how has he avoided being shown the door? His girlfriend is volleyball player Kenzie Knuckles so maybe Cook asked Frost for a favor to keep Tate on the team?

Also he has his position on his instagram listed now as OLB instead of DL. From his pics there is no way he is 280 lbs which is what huskers.com roster shows him at for this past season. We clearly need more DL depth versus LB. Does anyone know if the plan is to move him to OLB?

Thanks.

I'll say this - he went to the same high school as my daughters and I saw him many times at their volleyball matches. He was obviously a pretty tall kid, but I remember thinking how skinny his lower body looked. Sometimes when we talk about a recruit and their videos, I hear people say "oh he will be able to put 60 lbs on that frame no problem" - I thought the exact opposite when looking at Wildeman, seemed like a kid that would always have that kind of thin/heavy look if you know what I mean. Not sh!tting on the kid at all, just an observation - but yeah, if the light bulb hasn't turned on by year 5, chances are it won't.

I think he is a bust. And like many others on here are saying, if we don't get a transfer portal defensive lineman or two this summer we are going to be in a world of hurt on the defensive line. If Frost has another dismal season this year my gut says it will be because his defense will not be able to stop the run.

He had a couple injuries that really stunted his early development. I thought he was getting ready to make a push to be in the mix more, then suddenly last year they announced he was working with the OLBs.
In video, I felt that he looked like he had slimmed down a little from what I saw before- which I presume was to fit the OLB role. He and Damian Jackson (different body types) both feel like tweeners. Staff likes versatility, but sometimes you gotta focus on doing one thing well.
We’re thin on DL right now, so if he could bulk up I’d rather see him there. But I’ll let coaches figure it out.

He’s certainly a candidate for post-spring processing. Been around too long to not be a contributor.

You can see the trunk of a good DL prospect from a pretty early age. Sounds weird, but the good DL have massive legs and glutes from high school on.

While there have certainly been some CO recruits that turned into impact players - JoJo, Kenny Bell and Jack Stoll most recently, seems like there have been a lot of wiffs along the way with others. Wildeman and Lynn being on-roster examples.

Yeah, Eric Lee going back was a really heralded Colorado guy that just never seemed to live up to his lofty expectations. But I wouldn't think that would stop our coaches from recruiting Colorado, lots of guys here willing to go out of state with CU/CSU struggling - heck even when they aren't struggling, Nebraska still drums up a lot of interest with the CFB fans here...

Avery Anderson and Eric Lee were both highly regarded and kind of a package deal. Anderson had even less impact than Lee. Its always been popular to hate on NU in Colorado, but there has also been a lot of begrudging respect which is one reason I think NU has had success recruiting CO over the years. Hope we haven't lost too much of that the past 6 years.

i'd look at massive leg size over height for most positions. not always true but big az legs just naturally make them hard to push around. if push comes to shove and speed's the same take big legs.
am 600 out of ft collins used to carry husker football on the husker football network. there is 5 million people on the i-25 corridor now.

"His girlfriend is volleyball player Kenzie Knuckles so maybe Cook asked Frost for a favor to keep Tate on the team?"

Interesting, so now the women's volleyball program is dictating the men's football program roster in ways that will benefit the women's volleyball program. I wonder if this happens at other major blue blood programs.

As long as trolls keep acknowledging that Nebraska is a major blue blood program, ask all the dumb questions you want.

sooo....any chance you're going to enter the message board poster portal? I think you would be a better fit on a different team's board.

I love this board. In fact, I like it even more than the comedy channel.
Why wouldn't you love a board related to a major blue blood program? We know you're not from one of the other blue blood programs in the conference, those fans don't troll because they're not jealous losers. I know you'll have a clever troll response, but think about it... do you see other trolls here from Ohio State, Michigan or Penn State? Nope. Ask yourself why.

'Cause fans of those teams have seen their teams accomplish something on the football field.

Better enjoy him while you can, before they catch him and put him in the nut house.

Yeah buddy, I live just north of Legend HS...heading to Audriana's in Franktown for supper tonight, sooooo good!
I have a cousin in Parker. Works the door at Costco. His sister, another cousin, lives on County Rd 29, Elizabeth, CO. The property has been in the family since the seventies. Use to be in the middle of nowhere and it was 17 miles of gravel roads to get there. Now not so much. They never told me about Adriana’s.

He’s been around at least 5 years. Should have graduated by now. He probably has some eligibility left with red shirt, medical redshirt and Covid year but if he has graduated and is not contributing it’s time to move on.

Got to congratulate the guy on his girlfriend though.
