Tatum can really handle and dish the ball as well being a great scorer--looks like he will be a great fit at Duke:
Gary Williams couldn't have even been bothered to show up for Kendall Marshall's official visit to Maryland. Further proof that no one cares about Kendall Marshall.
J.T. will be killing him in the league in a few years.

Why he committed: Duke was Tatum's only official visit back when the Blue Devils played Syracuse in February, and he said he fell in love with the feel and fit of the program.
What he brings:The five-star Tatum is extremely versatile. He can score in a variety of ways, via jumpers off the catch or rhythm dribble. Tatum can get to the rim and finish and will not hesitate to post smaller defenders and simply score right over them. At 6-foot-8, 190 pounds, Tatum is a true matchup problem from the wing position and is capable of defending both wing positions as well. Also, Tatum is a proven winner. He was one of the go-to guys for USA Basketball the past two summers, bringing home gold medals in the FIBA U18 and U19 championships.
How he fits: Tatum's versatility will help him fit right into the Duke scheme on both ends of the floor. On offense he will be a terrific playmaker on the break, and in the half-court set he will be a matchup nightmare in a Duke spread attack that consists of set plays with multiple ball screens and entries into motion-type movements. Tatum can come off the ball screen or set the ball screen. He can roll and pop for the jumper or attack off the bounce. He can come off a variety of screening actions and post up as needed. Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski will move Tatum around the floor in order to take full advantage of his matchup, very similar to how Jabari Parker was utilized at Duke. Defensively, Tatum has the length and athleticism to defend multiple positions and switch in certain screening actions and in late shot- or game-clock situations.
Who he reminds us of: Tatum reminds us of a young Grant Hill, in terms of his offensive scoring package and ability to provide highlights on the break. He is not the defender yet that Hill was, but give him time and he will develop in that all-important area as well. Tatum has a little Parker in his game as well, especially with his tremendous offensive versatility.

When Jayson Tatum committed to Duke on Sunday, he became another in a long line of heralded high school basketball prospects to choose to play for the Blue Devils, and another to spurn a scholarship offer from North carolina.
And the Tar Heels? Well, they were on his list, at least.
It’s bad enough to go through the kind of recruiting woes that recently have plagued unc. It’s worse when your fiercest rival is among the beneficiaries of those woes.
Still, in recruiting one school is, and has been for a while, far ahead of the other...but in recruiting right now they’re arguably about as far apart as they’ve ever been.
Duke has held a clear advantage against unc in recruiting. Duke has had little difficulty attracting the best of the best high school prospects to Durham, while at unc Williams acknowledged not long ago that he’s having trouble even enticing recruits to visit Chapel Hill amid what he sometimes describes as all “the junk.”
Undoubtedly, the NCAA investigation has hurt Williams’ recruiting efforts, and it has likely had an effect on recruiting in just about every sport at unc. The investigation has brought uncertainty and questions about sanctions that might be coming. Or ones that might not be coming.
The uncertainty has become its own kind of penalty, this unrelenting cloud that has caused recruits to wonder whether they really want to commit to unc without knowing what the program might endure whenever the NCAA case concludes.
Will there be postseason bans? Might scholarship reductions make it more difficult to field a competitive team? It’s impossible to answer those questions with 100 percent certainty, and so they’ll remain until there are definitive answers. And answers are still a ways away.
That means that in the past three months, since Ingram made his decision in April, Duke has earned commitments from two top-five prospects. unc, meanwhile, hasn’t signed a top-five prospect in its past five recruiting classes.
The most recent top-five prospect unc signed, according to 247sports’ composite ranking, was Harrison Barnes, who arrived in Chapel Hill in 2010. In the years since, Duke has signed a top-five prospect in every year but 2012.

That Duke and Kentucky have excelled recently in recruiting makes unc’s shortcomings all the more glaring.

He still needs work on his range but yeah, he can shoot it in the mid range with high efficiency.
Hokie, that would imply Kendall Marshall will be in the NBA, which seems like quite the reach now for a guy that was once a top-50 all-time NBA player before he left college.

OFCEven if Giles decides to go elsewhere we're in good shape. If he doesn't choose Duke I hope it is not UNC but you never know. Jeter should be around for at least a couple of years and let's not forget how outstanding the class of 2015 is. Getting Giles would be awesome and we would be LOADED.. OFC

It's pretty cool all three Plumlee brothers have a national championship now. Hopefully Marshall can one-up his big brothers and leave Duke with 2!
