Gotta be some CPA's out there. So, newly married and filing jointly on Turbo tax, both the federal and state keep getting rejected due to the wife's AGI being off. Keep looking at her tax return from last year and I am certain I am putting the right number but still, it keeps getting rejected.
Upon further investigation, it turns out the wife's (GF at the time) turbo tax return from last year was rejected and neither one of us caught it until a week ago. Fortunately she did not owe any money, but was supposed to get around $700 back from federal and state.
Absolutely baffled how we did not find this out last year, but slipped through the cracks on us somehow. The question is this, since she didn't owe anything from last year I don't believe she will be penalized in any way, but is there any way she can get that $700?
TIA
