My social media is full of his friends and family and other people just proud of the local kid. I'm really hoping Bill Self does the right thing and retires for his health and enjoy time with family, and that TK switches to UK because of it.

Kentucky boy going to Kansas absolutely amazes me. The thought of losing Kinney and Stokes both to Kansas makes me sick! This staff just can't recruit.
I knew we were sunk when he cut his list down and was asked what stood out for each coach in the final group. He said Pope was funny. I knew we were doomed on his recruitment.
Having grown up in Ky, it’s while what I would have given to have had a chance to put on a UK basketball jersey.
We’ve been mediocre for so long that kids growing up here now dreamed of playing somewhere else. Rival schools for that matter. My brain just can’t grasp it. To me it feels like John Wall was here 5 years ago and the KAT team was 3 years ago. In reality, high school seniors were 2 years old when John Wall was here. I’m getting old, and UK basketball is becoming irrelevant. Damn.

And after UK lost out to Kansas, people were saying they preferred other point guards.

Let these guys go elsewhere like they are. We got plenty of Kentucky boys. Beat them next year and make them regret it. Moreno Noah Hawthorne JJ. We got enough Kentucky boys.
Even if Pope could recruit. Kinney and stokes aren’t the type of players to fit in at Kentucky. Me guys. They aren’t John Wall Eric Bledsoe Demarcus cousins.
This new generation is hard but hasn’t had a hard life. Fake tough. Give me some players that want to earn it.
Showed Wilkerson and Ament. Should have beat Wilson. Louisville and their pg got us but I would put money if we played again we get them by 15.

I hope that a factor for why we’re missing on recruits is that we should have more players returning next year than we usually do. The way it’s looking with high school recruiting hopefully we get a few great players out of the portal for next year.
You think bill self is going anywhere with the class he’s assembling? I don’t. He’s getting it done now so he can take a postseason break.

There's smoke Jasper Johnson is talking to UL. We run the real risk of u6 becoming the cool school in state. Pope is running a sinking ship.
So far, Pope doesn't even have an "us guy", so I don't understand how the fanbase can act like we dodged a bullet.
Good. I think that’s a perfect place for him. Overrated as hell.
He better go have a transfer class like this summer we should have had yaxel ,pierre jr ,Dent ,or Wilkerson.
If he lands four or five big dogs we will be rolling. I would really like to see a Pope team with a big powerful reliable point guard that can run the offense or attack.
Specifically a big guard like Pierre Jr. still think that’s Popes biggest miss this year. Guy is killing it.
He has the potential to be a good player. I definitely don’t want him to go to Louisville.
He has far more limited ceiling than he’s worth. He doesn’t have elite speed or dribbling. He is a good shooter but he’s not the cant-miss prospect most of us expected. No hate either — I genuinely wish him the best, but I just don’t lose sleep thinking about him going elsewhere.

yea- tradition just doesn't matter to elite kids like it used to. Its much more personally motivated now- which at the end of the day I am ok with. I have never been a person to think UK kid, must go to UK. They often don't work out in that pressure cooker- For every Rex Chapman, there are many more Travis Perry's
