1/8 I think. If we just limit the discussion to the players on the team (not recruiting, etc) Taylor was far and away my biggest disappointment this season. Really thought he'd be a valuable leader and the third scoring threat with law/pardon. Instead he turned into a guy collins seemed to start just because he was a vet, he'd brick a few, and then be buried on the bench by the end of the game. His attitude seemed to slump with his shooting confidence as well.

He really makes me wonder about the value of graduate transfers on a mediocre team.

Can anyone think of a recent NU player whose shooting improved during his career. I don't believe you can lay the blame squarely on the players' shoulders. You shoot as part of the teams offense -watching BMc, deteriorate and a proven 3 point shooter like Taylor struggle , not to mention Falzon, makes me believe that the entire offensive philosophy of NU has to be reworked

Pardon. 52% FT First Year to 68% Senior.

Taphorn. 31% FY to 47% Senior.

Lumpkin. 37% FY to 58% Senior.

So what is different about that? 33% in itself is not bad but he has disappeared offensively so often,

33% is pretty bad for your go-to 3 pt shooter. His prior numbers were 42% on high volume as the only major option, so even despite better defenders one might expect close to 40% just because defenses had to also guard Vic and Pardon.

The disappearance such as Weds is the reason he was at 33% vs closer to 40% But remember, he scored his 21 ppg by taking about 40% of his teams shots. Turner seems fine but Taylor was disappointing

Would proffer that perhaps Taylor was punching a bit above his weight class, playing in the Big Ten.

Yep. Not ready for Prime time. I am sure the staff was intrigued by his 42% 3 point average his junior year; but, breading low 30's first two years. This was a kiss by our recruiting staff.

Taylor was sick a few days before the Illinois game and his performance looked like he had not fully recovered but he stepped up because Law was out. I will give him the benefit of the doubt

Hard to argue that.

losing both guards forced CCC and staff to install a new offense this past off-season. and it wasn't what taylor was recruited for with his skill set. combined that with one most physical conferences in the country and high ranked conference teams and taylor really struggled
