TCU Source: Big 12 Expansion Is Complicated at Best

Interesting article from the TCU camp describing what they feel is going on with expansion

Commissioner Bob Bowlsby and OU President David Boren have made it clear: They know what they need, they know where they are looking, and they want to take action.

However, after a lengthy conversation with a TCU administrator regarding the particulars of expansion, things may be a bit more cloudy than they appear. Or, at least more cloudy than Bob Bowlsby and David Boren wish to admit.

We Don't Have An Agreement To Expand

While University Presidents have agreed to explore expansion candidates, the path to making expansion a reality is much less clear.

Approximately six current Big 12 presidents agree that expansion is a must, regardless of the prospective new members. Two more schools are "on the fence," wanting to see the competitive nature of the Big 12's top four sports (football, baseball, and men's and women's basketball) maintained, not diluted. I was also told two current members still disagree that a 12, 14, or (yes) 16 team league would be better than the current 10-team format.

Let me guess. TCU doesn't want Houston in and Texas and Gov does.

I question if Texas really wants Houston in the Big 12. I know they say it but is it because they are getting pressured by the governor. I doubt Tcu Baylor or even TTech wants them either. If the current rules state that you need 8 votes then I doubt Baylor or Tcu would be yes votes and it would be harder for the Governor to pressure a private school into voting for something. Tcu and Baylor would only need 1 more no vote and that would probably not be that difficult considering the Big 12 is a geographically disadvantaged conference like the Pac 12 and adding Houston does nothing to address the geographical disadvantages the conference has.

No you aren't geek of the year, not even of the minute.

Idiot of the century maybe, You are worthless garbage.
Harping on the same thing and wanting schools without value in a P5 conference just for the sake of numbers, then calling people names if they don't agree with you, and you have the nerve to call someone else worthless garbage?

Turn off the computer and walk outside for a while. Quit trying to be a message board bully.

......anyway....

The point is that the Big 12 hasn't even made the decision to expand. The conference is simply entertaining the idea.

You are without question the biggest computer geek I've ever come across. I guarantee you have never played football. Once the season starts you will disappear until expansion heats up down the road. Do you even like football? Or maybe you were a college geek that went to see Olympic Sports like swimming and diving. Eat Shiitt phag.

Agree. I hope Texas becomes more of a partner and team player someday soon so WVU and the Big12 becomes a stable conference for good. I guess they add two schools and extend GOR and commit to making the Big12 a threat to the SEC. I see Houston as an awful choice for the exact reason you bring up.
