Teacher's Unions protect jobs, not kids

I'm sure there are some Leftists on this board who will defend this video, but in my mind it is indefensible and a further indictment on Teacher's Unions. The day we dissolve them is the day kids start learning again.

Unions will not suddenly make incidents like teacher-student relationships go away.....or make students learn better. You realize that, don't you? Of course you do, you just like to stir the pot and throw **** on the wall and see what sticks.

Taking away unions will just allow for administrators/bosses to intimidate workers, threaten workers, and politicize the workplace and dare the workers to go against their norms and politics.

It will also allow Administrators and Parents the ability to fire them when they rape their students.

Ironically, that's exactly what goes on now between Union bosses and the rank and file. Reforms are crushed, incompetent Teachers don't get fired, and money is collected to support Leftist politicos who don't care anything about improving education, only protecting the Union bosses and their control over the rank and file.

You really are clueless and hate anything linked to the Democrats.

First off, teachers get fired all the time. Their contracts don't get renewed all the time. Trying to hype up isolated incidents doesn't make you look smarter, it makes you look desperate. Public schools are no different than anywhere or any other job or employment. You have 1-2% bad, and 98-99% good. Yet it is the bad that gets the headlines and you all believe this hype. Amazing how that works.....

Secondly, corporations crumble and the workers get screwed while the executives walk away with 7 figure golden parachute plans. Unions work to help the workers out. Sorry that you don't like that, but that's why they are there. I belonged to a union in my employment before retirement. They helped me when I needed them (when bosses were demanding longer hours, less pay, less benefits, etc.).

First off, teachers get fired all the time.

Then why do they have tenure?

Their contracts don't get renewed all the time.

That's when the Unions step in to reinstate them.

Trying to hype up isolated incidents doesn't make you look smarter, it makes you look desperate.

Ignoring a blatant case of forcible Teacher rape against a minor as depicted here and defending the Union which did nothing to prosecute him makes you look like a pervert if not a completely compassion less bureaucrat.

Public schools are no different than anywhere or any other job or employment.

Yes they are, that's why they are antithetical to competition.

Unions work to help the workers out.

Of course this is why they are rejected in most votes when they try to organize auto plants, retail stores, hotels, hi-tech offices, or other market based free enterprise operations who face competition and are trying to grow profitably and create jobs. The only sectors where they remain strong are of course in non competitive Government operations, where profits don't have to be earned and competition is a bad word.

If she doesn't fact have his records, this demonstrates the absolute corruption that permeates our entire government. IRS records are sacrosanct just like our intelligence secrets. Even more reason to absolutely and thoroughly clean house.

You are on a roll tonight. You are so concerned about this "rape" incident, yet your president's connections to womanizing, "grab her by the p*ssy", seems to slip your mind. How do you explain that? Oh, you don't have to. I get it.

And do you even know or understand anything about teacher tenure? It isn't a "get a free pass" card. It protects them from job reductions, sometimes referred to as "Reduction in Force" when layoffs take place. It allows for established teachers ("good ones"....the ones you don't talk about) to not have to worry about belonging to the right political party, or living in the right neighborhoods, or doing more than their job requires (ex. principals require non-tenured teachers to work sporting events, etc. without compensation by using the threat of "cuts" if they don't).

If the tenured teacher is doing bad in the classroom, they can be removed. Or if they are charged with inappropriate behavior. Or if they use social media and violate the "moral turpitude" clauses. Tenure does not "protect" them in these cases. But just like our court system, even these teachers are given the "innocent until proven guilty". They get their day in court. And if it's that the teacher is ineffective in the classroom, they are given the opportunity to go through trainings to improve. Isn't that what you want? To improve them first, then replace if they don't?

Wrong thread PAX, but I do agree and I honestly hope she airs his tax returns (if indeed she has them) so he can sue her.

here are three examples of why the nea is fos...

from the
http://www.nea.org/ website

Tell Your Senator: Vote NO on Neil Gorsuch for Supreme Court
Gorsuch has repeatedly ruled against students with disabilities who seek public education

Oppose Private School Vouchers
Vouchers don’t create choice for parents — they can reject students based on economic status, academic achievement, disability, or even gender. Tell Congress to invest in inclusive public schools.

Tell Congress: Protect Undocumented Immigrant Children
As a nation of immigrants, how we treat immigrants reflects our commitment to our defining values.

Because forcible Teacher rape against a student minor is a felony punishable by prison.

Trump "talking" about grabbing a p*ssy is 5th grader stuff, and not illegal.

You're more angry with Trump.

Tells me all I need to know about you.

It would be interesting to see how the NEA would react to a Teacher who raped an immigrant student?

It isn't a "get a free pass" card. It protects them from job reductions, sometimes referred to as "Reduction in Force"

That means they can't be easily fired if they're lazy, incompetent or both.

It allows for established teachers ("good ones"....the ones you don't talk about) to not have to worry about belonging to the right political party,

Is that why the NEA and the ATF always endorse Leftist Libs?

or doing more than their job requires

Heaven forbid if they should be asked to work more than 3 hours a day!

If the tenured teacher is doing bad in the classroom, they can be removed

Not if the union says "no"

Or if they are charged with inappropriate behavior.

We see how well their "policy" worked in this case right MountaineerWV?

Or if they use social media and violate the "moral turpitude" clauses

Yes, like the teacher who texted naked pix of herself to a male student. She got hers huh?

just like our court system, even these teachers are given the "innocent until proven guilty"

And even when proven guilty they just get "reassigned"

And if it's that the teacher is ineffective in the classroom, they are given the opportunity to go through trainings to improve

Correct. Going from terrible to just bad...but not out of the classroom.

Isn't that what you want? To improve them first, then replace if they don't?

Yes, I also want them to compete for their ability to train young minds and I want the best rewarded and the bad ones removed.
