Actually, losing fulmer hurt their program. He was the snitch of the south and was allowed to cheat to keep up. I have family that played at UT. If people only knew what was going on in that program when he was turning in others. UT has not been the same since the NCAA looked the other way for Fulmer. It's not the coaching changes that have hurt them, it's the fact that they no longer have the cover and are now what they are. A recruit-less land locked state that is just an average program.

The SEC E is horrible. Call me when we are beating terams with at least a decent .500 record.
We can only play who we are scheduled to play. We have no control over their recruiting or starting lineups or anything that goes on with opposing teams. You need to let your vendetta go. If you are a UK fan, then you surely have disguised it well for a lot of people, just not a lot of them on this site.

Were past that.. on to saving this thread and making it what it should be!

So when UT - UF- and UGA are winning the East - not one DA#@ word of how bad the East is - this is only happening when UK is in contention.

This would not be said as often if UK had beaten USM and showed up against UF. USC jr will be in a bowl (beating Mizzou and Western Carolina) and Vandy still has chance at Bowl (Mizzou and chance with UT / Ole Miss)

that would make the East not look as weak as everyone is making it - but no one will say anything because the 'traditional" east powers are down!

Tennesse is a dead power, and I love it.

They don't have top notch recruiting in state. They were caught cheating and had to back off. Fulmer was cheating his *** off, and it's the only reason they got by like they did through the 90's and 2,000's. He was the NCAA's snitch, and they let him escape while hammering other programs, like Bama. They can't compete, in the modern day, with recruiting hot beds like Florida, LSU, Georgia, and Alabama.

Tennessee is now a second tier, South Carolina type program.

They will never be great, but fans expectations are through the roof. This guarantees they will have mad player and coach turnover until the younger generations accept the reality. They are just an average SEC program.

Eat your heart out Volwequeers.

good post until this. thats not needed.

So, how about we focus on what is going on down there right now? Anybody have any news? I don't find anything coming out of conventional news outlets down there, no ESPN pick up yet. This is odd if something this momentous really did happen. Thoughts? Updated info?

Likely just gonna be a couple of guys transferring. Best case Butch Jones went into a hulk rage and punched out a couple of players and assistants. Worst case, nothing at all happened and it'll all be swept under the rug like team beatings of snitches who report rape. Really though what you have to ask yourself is how do we know this isn't all a hoax created by Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles to give them an edge this weekend!

Yeah, this is the guy found passed out drunk in a booster's SUV at 3am after a game his freshman year. No thanks.
I'm going to go out on an extremely sturdy limb and say that most fans do not care at all that someone of Hurd's explosive ability has gotten drunk during his time in college. If he were selling untraceable firearms and heroin we might have a problem there.

Maybe Dobbs will decide he has had enough too. That would make me happy.
