Impressive!

Now, will someone explain to me how many of these wrestlers are members of the NLWC, but also affiliated with Titan Mercury? I checked out the TM website and there are wrestlers from all over, but I couldn't find an explanation how they compete with two affiliations.

Titan Mercury just financially supports the wrestlers. They are not a club per se.

Titan Mercury provides funding. That's all.

I am pleasantly surprised to see all the Penn State guys accepted their slots since this tournament is so late in the year (Oct. 20-26). It is interesting that Marcus will be wrestling 65 kg even though he may be wrestling 133 during the NCAA season. It obviously remains to be seen where Ono will slot (my guess is 141) or even if he will be wrestling this season if he isn't granted an official second year of eligibility before the season starts. Also, maybe Marcus will redshirt and either Davis or Nagao go 133? There are many possibilities and we probably won't know the official line-up until a ways into the season. I could see the coaching staff letting Marcus compete in his five official competition dates. I don't know if Ono would be eligible for this rule. My guess is no. I am spit balling all of this because I can't go to HVI and search some of the old threads that have discussed all of these topics. Oh HVI, time it was, and what a time it was. A time of innocence, a time of confidences. Long ago it must be, I have an avatar. Preserve your trophy points. They're all that's left you.

I had 1 trophy point, here I already have 43…. Seems like point inflation

On the dates part, I wondered about that too, but Mesenbrink just did it last year so figured it wouldn't be an issue for the guys who wanted to go, which of course ended up being all of them.

As for Blaze, he actually talked about going back and forth between 61 and 65 at Final X:

"It's been super easy," he said. "I weighed in today at 63 kilograms. That's what I walk around at. Weighing in at 63, wrestling 65, it's not that big of a difference. The guys are bigger, but it's not that big of a difference, so just dealing with that."

He was also non-committal at that time about going to U23s at 65 kilograms and said he feels most natural at 61. Obviously, he elected to, but the full response is worth the watch. You can see the full video here:

Just because guys took the spot in July doesn't mean they will all compete in October. We have seen this happen many times in the past. Coaches will sit down and discuss it . Issue is you've to accept by a certain date so everyone is gonna accept just in case it fits into what the coaches want

Yep, that's a very fair point, too.

With Duke accepting his U23 spot he has a chance to pull off the “Elor” by winning the title at U20’s, U23’s, and seniors in the same year. Probably a long shot but I learned quite awhile ago to not doubt PJ Duke. Elor was 18 when she accomplished this and Duke will be 19. He was 18 when he won the spots on the US team but will turn 19 in a few days. Personally I think he should only do U20’s and seniors. Doing all 3 and then going straight into the folk season seems like too much. The kid has been competing nonstop lately (Blaze as well) and with the grind that the folk season is I think a small break would be beneficial. What do I know though? I’m sure Cael and company along with KD know what’s best for him and will have him ready whenever he completes

Had Amit been born one day earlier (she was born on Jan. 1) she would have been eligible to compete in the Olympic Trials selection process in 2021. Eventual 2021 Olympic champion Tamyra Mensah-Stock would have been in her path. I hope Amit can get healthy again soon as I would love to see her again at her competion-best.
