I was surprised when I heard this but it is true. Only 2% of cars sold in the U.S. today have manual transmissions. Only 20% of car models offer a manual transmission as an option. That figure used to be about 50%.

I’ve chimed in on this here before. I think in a generation very few in the US will even know what friction point is. They’ll probably think it’s a reference to sex. And heel and toe? Probably the same.

That is if the earth last that long. If it does you’ll probably have a self driving car anyway.
