Perry isn't ready yet, and that's okay. He's playing a bit of a roll bc Kerr is out and giving butler some rest. Ppl too brainwashed to think freshman should contribute more.

I know there's favoritism bc he's a KY kid...afterall ppl aren't screaming for Chandler to get in

But outside his spot minutes, not strong enough, can't create his own shot. Confident in him if he has a wide open set shot tho.
And that’s fair. Most of us, like you said, knew Perry would need plenty of time in the incubator. Actively cheering for a player to fail like TS is where the line should be drawn.

The eye test says he’s never going to be anything more than 10 minutes per game kind of guy. I’m not shocked that fans who love boys from Kentucky are angry at my take. But anyone who thinks we won’t have guards far better than him at Kentucky, for the duration of his career, are mistaken. To put it another way - if there’s ever a time that he’s one of the better guards in the next four years, then that means we will have a huge recruiting problem.

One game isn’t gonna change the fact that the guy is mid.

Travis is doing fine. He will probably never set the world on fire but that’s okay
He’s getting more minutes this year due to necessity
But I do think he’ll be a solid player off the bench his entire career and there nothing wrong with that

Reed was different. He had more athleticism, giving him a much better shot at the NBA.
To me Perry is Richie 2.0.

An Appalachian accent (or any other regional accent) does not equate lack of intelligence, as though your comment implies.
Was quoting him to say something similar although not as nice . That type of condescension will get your *** kicked . Kinda like thinking you are a badass in fighting , always a guy out there to proof you different , and in intellect , always someone smarter , who might have a EKY drawl . Pisses me off for someone in point A in Ky thinking they are better than someone from point B . That person is quite doltish .

For a freshman to come in and show the improvement he has made is amazing handers the ball well and passing is good and his shot has been fallen, of course he is playing with seniors so he is not supposeed to look as good as them, Perry has great upside.

You know this based off the 5-10 min a game he is playing? The guy is a freaking freshmen and you are already writing him off?

You are 100% the type of "fan" who would rejoice in being right and doubling down on your position if wrong.

Terrible fan. Get lost dude.

Perry had to make the transition from high school to the best conference in America. Plus he is transitioning from a 2 to a 1. He has improved steadily. He will be serviceable this year but I expect a big step forward next year.

Perry is doing fine
His confidence is showing
Ball handles are fine and gives Butler a little rest
Other fans I talk too agree
He’s very serviceable for what we need at this time and will continue to improve
All this while being a true freshman in probably the toughest conference of all time
Shot seems to be finding its way into the net now 2-4 last game, while one of those was a heave at last second
Anybody not realizing his development just don’t want to do so
And above all, a team player who just wants to help in our teams success

His game has already translated. He is a control the tempo get the team running the correct set type of point guard and he has been elite at doing that while NOT turning the ball over. This is one of the worst takes I have seen in a while.
I see Perry being a contributor in the mold of a Travis Ford. Not overly athletic or able to blow by you with his speed...but a dead eye shooter with a high bball IQ that wows you with his consistency.

Freshmen player sproadically playing behind a seasoned veteran. Hes coming along just like he should in limited minutes. Also not always out there with the starters either. Made 6 of his last 10 shots including 5 for 8 from 3. Not doing bad for only 84 minutes of gametime.

Travis Perry isn’t Reed Sheppard, and that’s fine. I think he’s going to be a good 4 year player here and by his junior and senior years he could be really good.
He has done more and improved faster than I thought he would honestly. I also think Noah could do pretty well if we didn’t have so many in front of him.
