Thing totally reminds me of the Warthog on Halo. Which also reminded me of Red vs Blue. Love this episode.

Polarizing design to say the least.

I think the ATV they announced at the end of the stream could be really interesting as well. Not that I'm in the market for either.

That might be my next truck.

that’s assuming I can lift it, put some bigger tires on it, and keep my diesel dually to pull the boats.
They claim that it will be able to tow 14k. I'll bet it's pretty torque-y too. It might tow that boat as well as or better than the diesel.

No chance it has more power than the duramax, and the dually is more about stability in the pull. My boat empty is just over 12k and with trailer it’s probably 15k and about 35 feet long. I’ll pull short distances with my smaller truck. Like, marina ramp back to the house or something like that, where I’m not going over 35 mph. Highway pulling, I need (personal choice) the stability and *** of the big dually. I have a buddy that’ll pull a like-boat with his 2500 4 wheel truck, but it can get a little bouncy and loose in the ***. Just not worth the risk in my opinion.

That makes sense. I had no idea how heavy your boat was.

I’d definitely pull my buddies 25 foot bay boat with that truck though. All in, trailer and everything it’s about 4k, I think. Even with my 1500, I’ll tug that boat pretty much anywhere we want to try and take it.

My little 17' bass boat is a no brainer. By the time this is rolled out I will be looking for a new truck...

Musk sometimes like to launch product when he's not fully ready to do so.
That's quite the understatement. The Model Y might be the first thing Tesla/SpaceX generally delivers on time.

FWIW, I'm myself am not sure who's the target prospect for the new vehicle. Not going to be working-men, and DvlDog already discussed issues for those who tow big.

I know Musk claims to have 200K deposits in hand; assuming that's a fact.....and at only $100 each, they might not mean much.......it's probably going to cannibalize to some effect the rest of his product line; which presumably doesn't matter to him, as he likely worries less about segment than sheer unit volume.

It could very well be me. Working professional who plays on the weekends. I don't want a car, am tired of SUVs, but I need something to tow with. but I also don't want a redneck fullsize F150 in the parking lot either. This will turn heads (good or bad?). I'm still a couple years out, and so is the production. We'll see.

The target audience for this vehicle, the raison d-etre for its creation, is to provide an updated version of, and replacement for, Golden Eering’s El Camino.
