Why does so many people get tested for Corona even though they are not sick ? Am I crazy for thinking this makes absolutely zero sense?

When you account for the propensity of false positives then the numbers favor the fear mongers. They then gaslight everyone to get tested and continue the charade.
Yeah I'll go with that ....I mean I've been around many many people who have had Corona & have never been tested, never been sick . Now I have stayed away from everyone for a couple weeks & I really enjoy that time of life
Back in January, I needed 3 tests within a 3 day period prior to the vax being readily available. First test was negative, second one was positive (2 days later) and the third test (taken from the same sample as the second test) came back negative. I believed the positive result because I had pneumonia in both lungs and felt like I’d been hit by a truck. Later (5 months ago) I tested for the virus antibodies and had them. So, just hope they have improved the process and have reduced the number of false results.
I do think testing is critical to the fight against this China scourge. We desperately need people that may have this highly contagious bug to quarantine. Even if the testing may be less than reliable, it is better than the alternative. JMHO.

I've never tested but have quarantined because I was around someone with it , same as I would if I was around the flu .
I had the antibodies test done & I have them so apparently at one time I've had it .
I say I've never been tested but I'm only counting the nasal swab , I've had the mouth swab, had it every Monday for better than a year.
Lots of kids having to get tested to get out of quarantine, employees having to test because of exposure....regular folks getting tested after exposure so they don't spread it.
The testing needs to be pulled back to symptomatic cases only. NFL is starting to do this....
This I agree with. Watching some local news channel & they was showing lines & lines of people getting tested that aren't sick & are now out of tests.
I've had a couple days I didn't feel to good & just laid up on the couch binged watch & rub my balz all day ...good freaking day I must say ..
Good on you for self quarantining. My wife self quarantined too once I was hospitalized. Wore her mask too. Treated me like I was a lepper. But I understood. Triple washed all clothes that I wore into ICU with Clorox.
That said, We have to get back to seeing friends and doing normal things. I did see Chris Stapleton in concert in Nashville but probably wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t have the antibodies.
Let's see.
1. Get a week written off from work (paid)
2. Get a week/two written off from school (excused)
3. Some scared of their own shadow or a sneeze
4. Some being paid to go get tested
5. Some only testing because the test is FREE (they wouldn't if they had to pay for it)
My step daughter had it, tested 3 times 3 positive, the nursing home she worked at paid her 5$ more an hr to work the Corona wing as long as she didn't have a fever. My wife, a nurse, was told if she didnt have a fever to come on in . Step daughter lived with us . Lucky for me I was in my camper in NJ.
Without knowing your specific situation, that sounds like an excessive and borderline irrational response.
You realize you’re in the extreme minority with respect to getting back to normal, right? Most of us have since summer/fall of 2020, and some of us never stopped. This is slightly dangerous if you’re old (mid 70s and up), have pre-existing conditions, and are excessively overweight. The numbers say the average age of death exceeds the average age of life in the US.
The only thing keeping you from going back to normal, is you.
It is crazy. I’ve never knowingly had Covid. Probably because I’ve never been tested lol

I was sick last year. Temp over 102. All symptoms. Stayed home for 2 days, treated the symptoms. Was fine day #3.
Why get tested? Unless a person has to go to the hospital for care why would you get tested? How many people went to have random test for the flu? Seriously, how many times have people been down sick for 3,4 maybe 5 or even longer with the flu , temperature first couple days then feeling like mortal **** for a week after & never ever go to dr ? So again I ask why get tested unless absolutely needed?
Quick story...three service techs at my dealership tested positive for Covid but never told anyone. They continued to work for weeks before it was discovered during open health care enrollment they had been tested positive for Covid. Management made everyone go get tested.
Guess what? More than half the dealership had positive results. Most with no symptoms! Crazy right? So I get my own test for anti-bodies. Guess what? I have them! Yup....tested positive for Covid anti bodies and never once had one symptom.
Now do you all see what a giant scam this all is? Maybe I really had it and maybe those were just "false positives" @Brushy Bill was talking about earlier ITT...the point is more than half of our Dealership got the same results, and no one was aware of anyone being "sick" nor did we have to shut the Dealership down!
Oh and those three techs? They're all fine and still working! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
