Texas HS football is NO JOKE... I live in Ft. Worth and can attest to the level of play. The mid level 4A schools (6A is largest) could easily hang and beat class A in NEBRASKA imho

Funny how much talent the college teams in Texas have but in the past 50 years only a couple of D-1 NC's.

Keep in mind the largest Class A high school in Nebraska, from an Enrollment standpoint, would be roughly the 20th largest 5A school in Texas.

Many 6A high schools in Texas have more than 4000 students. Allen, TX having one HS for a town of 100,000 people is absurd. But it explains why football is so great. The population to pull from is immense.

As for 4A, there are close to 25 schools in that classification that would fit into class A enrollment in Nebraska. And from a numbers standpoint, that would make the competition a lot tougher.

This blew my mind:

I don't have the time or energy to research this, but I suspect the last time a college team from Texas had most of the elite in state talent was that 2005 Texas team. I know VY played HS ball in Texas, not sure about the rest of the contributors, but I read that team had something like 30 players that would eventually be drafted.

I think since Brown left UT, and especially since ATM joined the SEC, the SEC has had a good recruiting presence in the state.

Wow what little opportunity to play.
