The two most hated rivals in OU history. ND opens as 10 point favorite. I'll be pulling for the horns to win by one after 4 overtimes......LOL

How about you? Give me your venom..............Where's GLB when we need him.......HA!

Well that's some venom. LOL. I just invited the ND board over here to see if they will post. What the hell, if they do, we may get some horn response..............All in fun, I tell you..............I wouldn't want to start anything though...........LOL

Needless to say I won't be rooting for the Horns. Got to say though when I think of crap teams, FSU comes to mind (along with usual ND rivals). :D

......and if the Irish win the toss, Texas will kick off. Kelly rarely defers to the second half.

That's some nice shoes. Can I drink some wine from them? :)

BTW, bring some more of your posters over here. We love to talk about the horns......

Asteroid strike at kickoff. Lol, haha, j/k....

Hopefully Sorry Charlie has put some serious coaching effort into the coin toss this season. Who would have thought a bunch of Yale and Harvard level braniacs could F up a coin toss.

I'll root for ND. At least their fans have class.

I'd say Texas, for the conference. If it was anybody else, then anybody else. And I may change my mind at kickoff. I won't really know til they start playing.

I do the same thing. In fact, I did it today. I was cheering for North Dakota State. I mean who doesn't love a 4 time champion from division 2 or is it FCA.

I found myself cheering for Montana on that last drive. Both of those teams looked in mid-season form. I hope we can start like that......

As some of you know, my oldest is a Dean's Fellow at Notre Dame. I hold my nose and pull for them when they're not playing the Sooners. I won't have to hold my nose to pull for them against Tejas.

I want Texas to beat the crap out of them. Like 3-0. A shut out would be nice. Can't ever root for ND.

I realize the Big12 needs this out-of-conference win, but no way I'm pulling for the horns. If they were playing USC, Miami or an SEC team, then I'd be tempted to cheer for the burnt orange bastards. But, I'll be pulling for the gold helmets.

ND all time won-lost record is:
1. 882-310-42 (.7317)

Texas is:
8. 881-346-33 ((.7123) OU is 6. 850-317-53 (.7184)

I love it when both ND and Texas lose. I'll pull for ND Saturday, but wouldn't mind a 'horn win.

Horrors! Texas is showing a slight interest in my 16 year old volleyball ambidextrous and ambi-pedal 5' 7" granddaughter. Her older brother is a soph at TCU. Ugh! Oldest brother is an OU grad. Oldest brother actually found a job in the field in which OU trained him.

I can't stand either school but will be pulling for the Dungers to beat 2* star Charlie and the Whorns

I think Texas will be lucky to finish 6-6 again this year

I cannot root for Texas, even though I did when it played USC in the 2005 championship game....which may have been the best championship game I ever saw. I thought at the time that USC would challenge OU's 47 game winning streak if it defeated Texas. USC was on a 32 game winning streak entering the game.
I vowed never to root for Texas again unless a win directly impacted OU positively.
As a college football follower, I would like a close game (with ND winning).

I'm with this. Right now I lean towards going for a Texas win, simply because it will factor into making OU look better when OU beats the hell out of Texas. Cuz let's be honest...this conference needs all the help it can get.

My gut response to this question is -- remember the third movie in the most recent Batman series (Christian Bale)? Remember the part where the stadium collapses into itself and is essentially swallowed up by the ground. Yeah, that...

Seriously, given the choice and conference loyalty notwithstanding, I'll be rooting for Notre Dame.

Yep, I get that too.
At least the ND people have an appreciable nuance about them...IE, they're way less obnoxious. Go Irish!

CT nailed me. To this day I still can't believe I pulled for Texas against USC. CT reminded me.

I hope I never have to pull for UT again.

I still like the play where Young made the successful pitch out with his knee on the ground.

In the '90s, I sometimes dined at ND's North Dining Hall, just south of all the outdoor basketball courts. And yes, the coeds were as ugly as Playboy Magazine described them. It seemed to always rain or snow when I showed up. Lake Effect snow.

Some staff members and I would dine on Ore-Ida french fries and Minute Maid orange juice. The staff members were a trip. Good people.

I thought I was the only one that remembered that way they cheated their way to the top !

I rooted for USC in the 2005 championship game and was disappointed in the outcome. One of the fundamental rules of the universe is that OU vs. Texas is a zero sum proposition e.g. if it's good for Texas, it's bad for OU and vice versa. After that game, we were predictably drowned in Texas propaganda that the 2005 Texas was the greatest of all time; the 2005 NC was the greatest CFB game of all time; Texas beat the USC team that destroyed OU the year before, ad nauseam.

I learned this life lesson in the late 80s when OU was regularly pimp-slapping the Horns. I actually caught myself feeling sorry for them. Then came Peter Gardere and four straight losses; the misery that was the 1990s and the infinite obnoxiousness and arrogance that are part and parcel of the UT mindset.

Bottom line: if Texas played the Taliban, I'd buy a turban with an inverted Longhorn logo.

Yep, I really dread when the horns have their next respectable season.
It will be awful...

Every sulfurous belch from the molten interior of the volcanic Longhorn spin machine...disgusting!

Same as Plaino. Horns all the way. If last year was any indication, Big 12 is going to need lots of help to beat out the other conference champs with playoffs. So bringing down the Irish can't hurt in the long run.

Always root for the shorthorns to crumble...it's going to be fun watching them self destruct. Not that I don't think the domers are capable of punching them in the gut....

You have to look at it long-term, not just one game or season. "If Texas beats so-and-so"... "and OU beats so-and-so".... "and Baylor loses to so-and-so".... why walk that tightrope? Free your mind and simply root against UT always. It's such an uncluttered viewpoint. "It's good for the conference".... so what?! If we go undefeated, we play for the crystal... period. If Iowa St. played Ohio St., well okay, go Cyclones. Totally different situation. ISU will never threaten OU as long as we're in the same conference.

Dr. Pacheco speaks hard truths. I'm actually ashamed to see fellow Sooner fans belly up to the "good for the conference" trough. Let's let the SEC have the monopoly on that pathetic behavior.

Nut up gents. Hate the underachieving gold diggers to the south.

Well, there was time I was all conference, all the time, but damn it, I've evolved to where I don't really like this conference, and all the siamese twin crap we have with the horns and the pokes.

So screw it. I look at it like, if horn gets beat by Dame, then maybe they'll have a little less starch in their drawers when they play OU.
It's a very subliminal thing.

Big 8 is long dead bro. Texas has always been a stinking pile of crap. Why bother hoping the septic tank does something other than stink?
