The BIG 12 isn’t going to renegotiate the tv contract early per their own words. Safe bet they aren’t passing up millions from OU and UT to let them out of the contract 1 year early.Landing 4+ P12 teams then renegotiating the TV contract is a quick out for OUT. Could.be bigger bucks for B12 if they get more than just ESPN involved. Does ABC want back into the game? New B12 Network? Money out there to be had.
Absolutely. For once use ESPN to our advantageLanding 4+ P12 teams then renegotiating the TV contract is a quick out for OUT. Could.be bigger bucks for B12 if they get more than just ESPN involved. Does ABC want back into the game? New B12 Network? Money out there to be had.
#2 Yet you are claiming ACC teams will leave their GOR early. What a clutz.#1 “ Bucky“ never said any such thing.
#2. The only way Texas and OU can exit the BIg 12 early is to pay the conference hundreds of millions of dollars which is why an ESPn executive states they will leave after the grant of rights expires.
#3 not surprising the anti WVU anti BIG 12 shill troll Allen would dig for an anti BIG 12 piece of propaganda.
#3 Bucky making claims about me he can't back up.Texas and Oklahoma owe 2 years worth of their final two years in the BIG 12.
So that's about (right now) $40 million per school per year. $80 million each, $160 million total--but that is just for the BUYOUT.
Then each of them owes from now through June 30th 2025, Each year of the ENTIRE media payout that the BIG 12 would provide them. This would be leaving their media rights with the conference via the GOR.
Its an escalating number each year--from an article most recently, that payout was about $28 million/yr
So let's say its:
2021-22=$28 million (each)
2022-23=$29 million (each)
2023-24=$30 million (each)
2024-25=$31 million (each)
That means in addition to the $160 million owed, UT and OU also owe the BIG 12 and additional GOR payout of upwards of $118 million EACH.
That's another $236 million due to the BIG 12 --could actually be more if they are collecting media rights within the SEC before 2025.
$236 plus $160 million (conservative estimates) =$416 million minimum that OU/UT must leave behind to the BIG 12 schools. Divided by 8 schools=$52 million per school owed by UT/OU to leave before June 30th 2025.
