can't blame them for trying

the big 12 is gonna get left behind soon
They already have been.

You may have noticed that Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas, Texas A&M and Missouri are missing. Colorado for a while but wait, there they are!

Former PAC schools may be wondering where USC, UCLA, Washington and Oregon went to.

After the B10 & sec raid the ACC, the Little (formerly Big) 12 will merge with the remainder of the ACC. Not that many B12 schools would be a positive, Maybe Kansas or Utah?

As long as Big 12 gets an invite to CFP then smart to stay there and buy conference championships

Absolutely. It is something they all can sell. It is a great point for ISU now. Just have to get a seat at the table any way possible.

They already are but they get a playoff invite.

everybody can’t be in The big ten and sec.

the biggest fish in a smaller pond has its perks. Somebody will make it to the playoff from the big 12 while a butt load of teams from the big ten and sec never sniff it.

Texas tech adds zero TV subscriptions from Texas so it’s pointless to want them.

if a couple teams leave the big XII they will probably grab Oregon St and Washington St

The Big XII is already a pretty darn good basketball conference, and Memphis seems like a logical addition that would make them even stronger. That conference will become what the ACC has been for a vast majority of its existence - a great basketball conference that produces a really good football team every once in a great while. Nothing really wrong with that.

I think Texas Tech is going to just keep spending that cash and dominate the little 12 for as long as the conference gets a playoff invite.

Pretty sweet setup, if you have bottomless pockets like they do right now.

the problem with tech is they go in spurts, sometimes successful, sometimes not. always seem to have high powered passing attack. but not really a defense

Anybody else suspect they are trying to spend and play their way into an SEC invite?
Don't think the SEC would bite. They already have the top two in Texas, so no beneficial add and I don't think UT or aTm would be in favor either.

But...it would be beneficial for the Big Ten to get into Texas, but I don't think Tech's culture matches what the Big10 desires.

The Big Ten presidents would consider adding Texas Tech to be hilarious.
