fifoNone of the names being seriously discussed are better than Franklin - at late 1st half time/game management -, so I have a pretty good idea who we get won't be better.

Roll Tide!Can PSU pull enough talent out of Mt Carmel and Pottsville to make up for what CJF is going to pull out of VA and MD?
DC is a district, not a state.Anybody who lives in the DMV (The DC Metro Area) understands it means DC, the Maryland suburbs of DC and the Virginia suburbs of DC (i.e., DC, MD & VA).
Very true…it’s why people referring to SoCal are referring to South Dakota and California…can’t legitimately mix a State with a direction! The rules simply don’t allow it.DC is a district, not a state.
As such it can’t legitimately be included in a three letter acronym referencing two other states.
D = Delaware
M = Maryland
V = Virginia
Kraft is screwed. He'll get scraps then try to convince us he got the one he wanted all along. I hope he puts a pie in my face but I think he over-estimated what he could accomplish. Nothing we can do about it now.Yeah that “dumb” Va Tech AD has hired a very good coach more than 2 weeks before the early signing period for high school kids when the vast majority sign and 6 weeks before the start of the two week transfer portal window. Meanwhile, Krafty is . . . who the hell knows.
Thanks for posting this. It reminded me that I wanted to ask the board a question:DC is a district, not a state.

Easily.Hopefully the next HC can keep the blue chip Pa. players.
We need hard-nosed football players - desperately. Like Kaytron Allen.We should be going for far fewer under the radar type recruits that Franklin went for and more high value targets.
I give Franklin credit for his evaluations and being able to get those guys coached up which will be right up the VT alley.
We handled ‘Nova!Yeah genius Franklin lost every game he coached at PSU.
Devon Still was also from Howard Institute in Delaware. He was the Big Ten Defensive player of year in 2011.
Brandon Snow (a very good FB for us) was from Newark HS in Delaware.
Kraft gave Franklin the Big Money to go get high value WO's and Franklin chose lesser paid lower hanging fruit because he didn't want to upset the SR's in his locker room who would be making less. That is one of the reasons Franklin is now at VT. According to Kraft the money is now there, I'm guessing Pegula money and the new Adidas deal.High value targets are just that..high value. So, PSU would be competing with the big boy NIL schools for this targets. OSU, Oregon, USC, Texas, A&M, etc. I’m not sure PSU can match dollar amounts with those schools.
I stand corrected on my assumption it was Delaware, Maryland, Virginia. It is as several of you listed: DC, Maryland, and Virginia. My error.FIFY
Agreed. Everything changes when the coach is paid that much.IMO, there’s a strong chance this doesn’t work out well.
You're thinking DelMarVa.I stand corrected on my assumption it was Delaware, Maryland, Virginia. It is as several of you listed: DC, Maryland, and Virginia. My error.
By all accounts closest to the program, notably Landon Tengwell, this was the case.Kraft gave Franklin the Big Money to go get high value WO's and Franklin chose lesser paid lower hanging fruit because he didn't want to upset the SR's in his locker room who would be making less.
I suspect it may. I don't see VT being able to be much of a player in NIL so Franklins approach may be necessary at least in the short term.By all accounts closest to the program, notably Landon Tengwell, this was the case.
Will be interesting to see if this policy continues at Tech.

He'll probably have to face them in the National Championship FinalNo one is more happy than James Franklin that he doesn’t have to play OSU ever again.
Even my ex-girlfriend Mulva down in DelBoca Vista, knows DelMarVa is the way to incorporate Delaware .Anybody who lives in the DMV (The DC Metro Area) understands it means DC, the Maryland suburbs of DC and the Virginia suburbs of DC (i.e., DC, MD & VA).
Delmarva is the peninsula. Delmarva incorporates all of Delaware plus the Maryland Eastern Shore plus a little sliver of Virginia. I live in Montgomery County, MD but don’t live in Delmarva.Even my ex-girlfriend Mulva down in DelBoca Vista, knows DelMarVa is the way to incorporate Delaware .
So you’re not wanted ? Sounds like a Bob thing. ( TY for further clarification)Delmarva is the peninsula. Delmarva incorporates all of Delaware plus the Maryland Eastern Shore plus a little sliver of Virginia. I live in Montgomery County, MD but don’t live in Delmarva.
It's easy to be confused by DMV and what it refers to. Outside of recruiting, there is something call the Delmarva Peninsula, and many would make the leap to DMV from there while not considering the recruiting specific context.I stand corrected on my assumption it was Delaware, Maryland, Virginia. It is as several of you listed: DC, Maryland, and Virginia. My error.
I looked over the JMU roster. Most players are from Virginia, Maryland, NC, NJ & PA. Some from Texas, Florida, GA, SC, DE, and New England.Yes, forgot about Devon.
JMU is in Virginia. Chesney has high school contacts there. PSU brand stronger than VT brand. Give the man a program upgrade.
That’s what I figure myself. I live in the DC suburbs and my daughter lives in Bethany Beach. I guess it might be confusing for a non-native.It's easy to be confused by DMV and what it refers to. This DMV argument is ridiculous. I spent three hours at the DMV today and didn’t see one player we would recruit.
BGJ intro- a few obligatory obviously , and PSU referred to as the last place .
What was the alternative? Honest question, I’m not really following along with all the payments and all that.
Meanwhile:
PSU "Leadership" just threw another $9 Million into a bonfire.
Man, what could have been this year with the great core of players and NIL money.Kraft gave Franklin the Big Money to go get high value WO's and Franklin chose lesser paid lower hanging fruit because he didn't want to upset the SR's in his locker room who would be making less. That is one of the reasons Franklin is now at VT. According to Kraft the money is now there, I'm guessing Pegula money and the new Adidas deal.

I'm not 100% sure either, I have seen people ripping penn state for writing that check and also people celebrating penn state getting the buyout from 49M-9M. Best I can tell, Franklin/Sexton pump faked he may not take a job this cycle or next(knowing full well they were already in deep negotiations with VT) and offered PSU a take it or leave it massive reduction in the buyout to $9M. Penn State was probably giddy to pay it considering the full figure. Franklin then signs with VT for $8-9M a year which nullifies the buyout for penn state, so James and Sexton got a cool $9M from Kraft when merely 2 weeks later, he would have had to pay nothing.What was the alternative? Honest question, I’m not really following along with all the payments and all that.
After that moanfest intro , you know the rest of the sentenceIn Franklin’s northwestern post-game PRESSER., his last as PSU coach, he was asked about his feelings about the situation. He never mentioned Penn State or the fans. He only mentioned his concern for the “kids in that locker room”. Given that and his “the last place” comment, it seems that he feels animosity for or even betrayed by Penn State.
I like Franklin, but he is emotional and comes off thin-skinned. Perhaps the boos this season stuck with him. It’s also been said that his relationship with Kraft had become strained.
Sadly, I don’t think Franklin will reflect fondly on his time at Penn State. Of course, he needs to accept responsibility for what happened at the end. Maybe his feelings will change with time.
I'll actually root for Pitt against him, and that takes a lot for me to do, especially with their unlikeable coach.In Franklin’s northwestern post-game PRESSER., his last as PSU coach, he was asked about his feelings about the situation. This was on of the reasons they didnt get rid of him in 2021. Of course now the timing of the portal and signing period will make hiring a big name coach almost impossible if they are in the playoff.Kraft is screwed. He'll get scraps then try to convince us he got the one he wanted all along. I hope he puts a pie in my face but I think he over-estimated what he could accomplish. Nothing we can do about it now.
