for what needed to be said. And for any A-hole in the national media that wants to act like Lamar is somehow just winning the Heisman award because of the competition he is up against this particular year, I say, go watch him play every game this year and then look up the absolute stiffs that have won this award in the last 30 years.....

Gino Torretta? Jason White? Troy Smith? Chris Weinke? Rahsaan Salaam? Etc...

Yeah right. Congrats Lamar Jackson, you were by far the best and most exciting player in College Football this year and it wasn't even close.

Forget EC for all those awful articles he's written for what seems like decades now. Another's opinion would have been nice. Somehow got stuck with him. Game got no better along the way.

More often than not he's fair just like this time. No sports writer is going to be a homer. And shouldn't be.

The other part that bothers me about the national guys (and there are lots) saying that Lamar is leading the Heisman race due to the weak field behind him. Funny that the "weak" group includes Leonard Fournette (Last years favorite), Christian McCaffrey (last year's most productive player), Desean Watson (this year's early favorite) and Baker Mayfield who was a top 4 Heisman pre-season pick.

What they seem to be saying is, "good thing Alabama doesn't have a running back with more than a 900 yards rushing this year or we'd give it to him.

Lamar as a sophomore has simply left his very worthy competition in the dust this year. I wish I could be there in New York Dec. 10.
