Just tested positive so no thanksgiving here. Just glad I found out early enough and didn’t get my parents and other relatives sick.

I was going to post a big story about how we were going to have about 150 people and continue our time honored tradition of passing the gravy boat with each person sipping from it, like a communion cup, while saying what we were most thankful for. This took the fun out of it. Good luck.

All I’m saying is don’t make out with random hobos. It doesn’t end well. Your family’s tradition should be fine.

The plan was probably 25 - 30 people. But my mom just got put in the hospital and tested positive for the 'rona so it's probably all getting canceled because she had to get it from someone who would be there.

It likely doesn’t get transmitted through saliva so you should be okay.

Wife and I are staying home and cooking a feast for two. My parents are elderly and basically said "don't come here." My father in law is also elderly and has COPD so we're staying away from him too. My extended family canceled the large gathering of 30-50 people we usually have.

I'm an introverted hermit by nature. I absolutely thrilled I won't be going to my aunt's house with 40 other people piled into a 3 bedroom house. Chilling at home all day with a feast and football sounds like the best Thanksgiving ever.

Hope everyone gets through this ok. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, sucks big time this year. My parents, both in their late 80’s, live a half mile away, and I am reluctant to invite them over to enjoy the meal with my kids. Andy says don’t, I say do. What say you?

I'd say by what you described, it falls into the acceptable portion of what Andy said.

JMHO...I would have them. Life is too short to plan for tomorrow. Especially with older folks they can be healthy and active one day and gone the next. We do not know what tomorrow holds with or without covid. I would wear masks and keep distance though.

I say that with sincerity and don't want it to come across as crass.

Counterpoint: the vaccine should be available in 3 months for them. Call it thanksgiving in March.

What symptoms are you having? Did you lose taste?

Mostly headache/body aches followed by some congestion and just straight up exhaustion. On the mend now. Load up on vitamins and keep yourself in as good of shape as you can. For me it was like a bad cold or flu but could see if you had challenges it could be a lot harder on you

Get well. I hope you are okay.

Thanks man. Getting there. Appreciate it.

I’ve got to add the worst part has been that the news told me for eight months that it was a death sentence. Fortunately not the case. If you get it keep a positive mindset and don’t freak out. Stay on top of the symptoms and load up on vitamins and rest.

Same number as we always have. Not changing anything. Same rule as every other year: If you’re sick don’t come to our house.

For all the guys/gals that are having Thanksgiving by themselves just know this, it may not seem like much on a message board, there are people out there that love you no matter what your circumstances are. Keep your faith as best you can and don’t be afraid to reach out, curb your pride if that’s what holding you up some and remember the good times during the bad
I am lucky enough to listen to my wife’s prayer and grace so I do not take it for granted. You matter in this world and may Christ and mother Mary look over you 🙏

One thing that will be weird is the football. I was a lifelong Redskins fan and since they decided to fold the team and reopen under whatever crap name they have now they are far and away my least favorite team in any sport. They haven't been on TV so far this year. It will be weird to watch a game that the Cowboys are involved in and actively root for them.
That was a damn shame. GO STEELERS NEXT WEEK!!!

Lifelong Skins fan. Go Skins!!! They’re gonna eff around and wind up hosting a playoff game. Hahaha

Cowboys suck every season...regardless of their record.
