Standard fare with the main feature being a smoked turkey. Main sides: mashed taters, roasted brussel sprouts, wild rice casserole, green been casserole, dressing and gravy. Bloody mary bar and apps before.

Based on where we're going to be eating, my guess is Turkey, bland gravy and sawdust (they're renovating).

Don't care for Turkey at all, never have. I'm a ham kinda guy. Good ole Honey Baked Ham is my go to around the holidays. That and all 500 ridiculously unhealthy, starchy sides.

eating a thanksgiving chicken. even with family over, we never get close to eating a whole turkey. last time i was stuck eating leftover turkey turned into a variety of other dishes for the following month. turkey soup, turkey sandwiches, turkey breakfast omlettes, and worst of all: turkey flatbread. it's not pizza, it's an abomination.

Controversial take: Honey baked ham is garbage.
I'll allow it.

Not because it tastes like garbage, but because people think the Honeybaked Ham Co are the only people who can make a ham and put a honey and brown sugar glaze on it.

My grandma always made her normal Sunday afternoon dinner (fried chicken, mashed potatoes, pintos, cornbread, creamed corn, collard greens) on Thanksgiving and then added turkey and dressing (plus what everyone else brought pot-luck style).

Since she passed, my dad's side of the family has continued that tradition, so we have turkey, ham and fried chicken.

I don't hate that tradition at all. Folks that argue about ham vs turkey are missing the most American Thanksgiving aspect of the holiday--having both.

thanksgiving pro tip: better to start drinking *before* the family starts to argue about who is ruining the traditions.

To answer the OP... turkey (dark meat), dressing, gravy, cranberry dressing, whatever casserole is available, and a couple of dressing balls. Wine with lunch, bourbon after. On the couch and kicked back by 3pm to watch some football or a Christmas movie.

You get a pass, OP, for not reminding us of Veteran's Day. Someone else did your job for you. *******.

Had ham last year. Probably gonna have turkey this year.

Was gonna get some pie on thanksgiving night, but managed to fall asleep. Still kicking myself over that one.

For only the second time in 33 years, I will not be making the trip to the in-law's place. Will be alone all day :) watching Football; think I'll pick up a couple of these big Banquet turkey and dressing TV dinners. Used to love them when I was a kid.

Congratulations on ditching the family. If you're getting banquet TV dinners you should get the Salisbury steak. It's the same ingredients but the gravy's WAY better.

If you're baking a turkey, I would rather eat this

Fried turkey is best.

I'm traveling over the holiday so mine will be whatever the hotel has.

Crackerbarrel all the way. Good food, good price, no leftovers, no hours upon hours preparing the food, and no cleanup. Best of all worlds.
