It never ceases to amaze me what Architects think is appealing. Many times I'm left shaking my head at designs that 1) Don't fit with the surrounding structures, 2) Have aesthetic elements that do nothing but drive up costs.

An example is this wonderful design in our neck of the woods that Shepherd Univeristy had built about 7-8 years ago. Completely clashes with the surrounding architecture at the University as well as the historic nature of Shepherdstown, and had design elements that dramatically increased overall cost.

That cooper sheathing cost a fortune.
