Ugh. Time to move to Florida or Arizona or something.I guess we can just stick it to the tax payers like the school down the road does with all their expansions.
If the UK football program continues to flounder under Stoops, ticket sales will fall off dramatically. Then, how does UK Athletics service the debt on its bonding?
Hey I have a novel idea...how about we go to WSU and offer Mike Leach what we are paying Stoops...looking very good for them finishing 9-3 this year and will definitely put points on the boardDebt reduction is not directly tied football attendance, but one element in the financing structure. There are other factors more relevant to paying the debt. On the other hand, an empty stadium will set in motion changes in the football program.

Cost/benefit analysis will be done at some point. Are the money from lost ticket sales greater than the buyout on his lavish big money guaranteed contract?
But this is the wrong question. The question that needs to be asked, why should Mitch Barnhart be allowed to hire a fourth head football coach at the University of Kentucky? At some point the blame for on the field losses has to be directed at the man ultimately in charge who has been here for so very many losing seasons and precious few winning ones.

Hard to argue with what is clearly a sound line of reasoning. This ^^^^ times 100...at the end of the day what good is it going to do changing the manager if the same CEO is still in place making what has consistently been the wrong hires? When will this guy start being held accountable? A large flagship state university with the resources that UK has shouldn't be this bad for this long. Look at how far Louisville has come during the same timespan that Barnhart has been at UK..heck look at how far Western Kentucky has come. Do you realize that we are now the 3rd best program in the state of Kentucky? Why don't we see Louisville and Western Kentucky making excuses? All their AD's do is go out and hire innovative coaches that don't look at what they DON'T have, but instead look at what they DO have and build off that.
Kentucky football fans are sick and tired of hearing why we can't win in football. We're seeing more and more programs with far less than us doing a lot more, and it's BEYOND time for a large portion of that blame to be laid at the feet of our athletics director. He seems like a nice guy, but at the end of the day this is a RESULTS ORIENTED BUSINESS. The guy isn't getting the job done, plain and simple. What other AD watches once first time coordinator fail miserably as a head coach and then goes out and hires another one right after? Come on.
Interesting question. Should that happen, I think the likely answer is the University will have to finance the shortfall. If the UK football program continues to flounder under Stoops, ticket sales will fall off dramatically. Then, how does UK Athletics service the debt on its bonding?
This is an appreciated though uninformed opinion of the CWS and training facility financing.Interesting question. Should that happen, I think the likely answer is the University will have to finance the shortfall.
However, I think that is unlikely. The "OK" for the stadium expansion was probably financially based upon (1) revenue from premium seating and (2) revenue from the SEC. IOW, whether Joe Fan renews his 2 low donation seats doesn't mean much (i.e., basic season ticket operating income ups and downs) but failure to renew suites and luxury seats would make a big impact on planned debt service.
While not the main topic here, Barnhart's lavish extension of CMS's contract in the middle of last season was about as stupid a thing as he has ever done Yes, that includes hiring Gillispie. It affects ticket sales and debt service from the standpoint from the standpoint of "when" you could hire a new coach and reap the "excitement revenue" (i.e., ticket sales) that usually accompanies a new hire. All, of course, JMO.
Peace
I thought we were all told that Mitch didn't have anything to do with hiring Stoops.Cost/benefit analysis will be done at some point. Are the money from lost ticket sales greater than the buyout on his lavish big money guaranteed contract?

Good gracious! How would anyone think the athletic director had no input in hiring coaches. C'mon folks.I thought we were all told that Mitch didn't have anything to do with hiring Stoops.
Y'all changing your story now?
Well that's what all the Barnhart haters were saying...just like they still say he didn't have anything to do with hiring Cal.Good gracious! How would anyone think the athletic director had no input in hiring coaches. C'mon folks.
That's only a valid argument if you can prove that the same people who are blasting Barnhart for the Stoops hire are also the same people who were previously claiming that Barnhart had nothing to do with the hire in the first place. You can't sit and hold Barnhart detractors A, B, and C responsible for what Barnhart detractors D, E, and F might have said at a different time.Well that's what all the Barnhart haters were saying...just like they still say he didn't have anything to do with hiring Cal.
Thank you but please fill me in. What am I missing? This is an appreciated though uninformed opinion of the CWS and training facility financing.
Not missing anything. The debt will be paid off with the funding sources you mentioned.Thank you but please fill me in. What am I missing?

:football::football::joy::joy:if we somehow end up 7-6 I would almost guarantee itWith all the expenditures to the stadium to make it more "fan friendly", I'm guessing Mitch is chomping at the bit for a ticket and K fund increase. if we win out and go to a toilet bowl, he may go for it. Surely he isn't stupid enough to try it if we end up 5-7.....
False. Show the posts or STFU. You are one of the worst posters on this board, and you know nothing about Barnhart. You didn't even know he got a bonus for UK going to a bowl. And you still owe bradyjames $1,000, welsher.Well that's what all the Barnhart haters were saying...just like they still say he didn't have anything to do with hiring Cal.
