I'm a dinosaur guy. So want ever that makes me.

Cheers
Most of the major science discoveries of the past 15 year strengthened the case for creation. Can't be a creation without a creator (god). So saying god is fake makes you a science denier. I'm not sure what dinosaurs have to do with it.

Cool. Go **** a goat. Or whatever your saying.

I'm atheist. But I believe in science. In fact science proves the stupid Bible book is not only fake but impossible.

Atheism is the denial of science. You can't have it both ways pal. I am curious though how does science prove that the Bible is impossible?

Eff this thread.. I hate thinking about this.

All I'll say is that I hope to wake up in a nice old pub, mahogany bar, good bourbon and a bunch of family and friends. A never ending Happy Hour.

Also, no liberals there either.
There's definitely no liberals in heaven.

I'm a Christian. With that said it would be obvious which side of the arguement I'd be on.

There is an arguement that can be made on your side however. I'm not sure you're articulate enough to take on the fight though. I'd shut it down and leave it to more schooled atheist in the Paddock. There is an easy framework for the defense and tangible talking points. They will make your stance look credible.

I don't think you understand either faith good enough to comment. You're kind of an idiot and the more you type the more that becomes evident.

Check mate? I bet you're not cerebral enough to play chess.

I don't think you understand science. Faith? Yea that works

I hope there is an actual Heaven, and I'm lucky enough to be let in. It'll take an eternity to get my myriad of questions answered!

Here's my personal #1. "How can Christianity reconcile the use of the word 'amen'?" Amen can be traced back to the Egyptian Pharoah Akhenaten, who tried to steer ancient Egypt away from polytheism. In and of itself, the life of Akhenaten and his devotion to the Aten has many parallels with the life of Jesus.

Of course my main question as a child was "Who baptized John the Baptist?" Since Jesus dealt with that question as a matter of faith, I let that question be, because that became a issue of my personal faith.

Really? Heaven purporting Hell as a "burning eternal nightmare" is #fakenews. The Bible=CNN

Ghost. If you're gonna undermine God. What's the first thing you do? Make Hell more pleasurable than Heaven. Maybe the Heaven propaganda is ********. Maybe?

Funny thing is, Hell ain't a burning eternal nightmare. Just somebody's interpretation. Now there's more than a few 'fire and brimstone' types that use that argument, but my version of Hell would be eternal boredom.

Modern Christianity is so far off it's almost scary some of you get on here and defend it.

I can be on board with a God and a heaven. I believe that you must ultimately be perfect to reach "heaven", if that's what you want to call it.l, but if you think going through one life on this planet for roughly 77 years makes you perfect then there really is no point in continuing this argument.

Like the rest of you ********, I'll give my opinion.

Heaven is different for everyone, it's what your perfect utopia would be.
Hell, pretty much the opposite, take your worst fears and multiply them by infinity.
Reincarnation would be interesting.
Nothingness...seems like a huge letdown/waste for what is supposedly the most intelligent beings to ever exist.
Nobody has mentioned getting stuck in Purgatory. I Think purgatory are spirits stuck in between this life and the afterlife "ghosts/haunting's"

I think people over-analyze the criteria to get into heaven. I think most know what/who they are as a person. People are fundamentally binary, good-1, or bad-0. I would hope most people know what their soul truly is.

With all that said, give me heaven.

An atheist science denier???? o_O

As for walking on water, or even parting water...SCIENCE has shown that it's possible.

Dead sea with it's high salt content could possibly give the illusion of someone walking on water under the right conditions.

I wish George could tell us if Faith was enough to secure a good spot in the afterlife.

Only oblivion awaits us at death. There is no evidence whatsoever that an afterlife exists. Nor was there a beforelife.

Life, at its base, is just a chemical chain reaction that's been going on for approximately 3.8 billion years. On earth, at least. The human brain is currently the most complicated product of that chemical reaction. Consciousness is a process generated by the brain.

When the body dies, the brain dies with it and its processes stop, including consciousness. The chemical bonds that held the live organism together break down and may be taken up by other living things as they continue life's chain reaction.

If conciousness is a product of our brain how do you explain patients who are temporarily brain dead and wake up remembering vivid "dreams" they had while in the coma?

The brain is the product of evolution via the chemical chain reaction we call life, not consciousness. Consciousness is not a thing. Rather, it's a process of the brain.

There is no such state of "temporarily dead." There is only alive and not alive.

A coma is a state of deep unconsciousness that lasts for a prolonged or indefinite period. In this state, the process of consciousness is not functioning.

Dreams occur as part of the brain's process of cleaning itself of metabolic litter. The brain's meningeal lymphatic system performs this function whenever the brain is unconscious. This is normally done during sleep, which is one of the reasons why we sleep, but can certainly occur during a coma.
