Let’s let him coach the total team. Without the best biggest positions of need. Pg and c.

Will say this l was disappointing. Winnable game.

play some zone. No rim protector and can’t guard the ball scree.

100%. Judge after the season when he has the total team. Again, I appreciate your reasonable and adult takes. Thank you. If Pope hadn't missed all those shots we would have won....

Mitch had two names on his list. The first stayed in Waco and the second is wetting the bed as our head coach.
It starts and ends with nate and oates. He was made for UK. Barney though will not poach a player from an undrstudy. Screw winning

I was pushing hard for Lloyd, and I think we could have gotten him.
I agree. I never understood why he wasn’t offered. He was under Few for years at Gonzaga. But he’s a west coast guy, sometimes people like that just want to stay on their coast.

Sorry but I’m bout to burn my UK gear. What’s the fing point anymore to love a program that is being destroyed by a complete *** clown Mitch Barneyheart. Hiring a complete goofball who claps on the sidelines. Life aint worth spending time or money on a program that is already dead.

Nobody is going to be able to save Mark except Mark.

There's not enough nostalgia in the world for us fans and boosters to support this.

You can't have pep rallies with all the former players we loved.

You can't put on your old jersey.

You can't have Rick Pitino plea that you're the man for the job.

You can't have Dick Vitale or whoever as national pundits shame us for being crazy or reactionary.

Most of us know what a good team looks like. We know what good coaching looks like. We know what a functioning program looks like. We know what Kentucky level talent looks like. And this ain't it. And it wasn't it last year either if we're being honest.

I don't want to hear injury excuses, because other teams deal with injuries. Also stop recruiting injury prone soft players.

Pope's teams have lacked a certain toughness, grit, and mental acuity to compete at a high level at Kentucky. And that is on top of not being top level talent.

This isn't good enough and it's setting us back. And they way athletics, youth, and attention spans are now we can be forgotten about and be looked like a regular ol' basketball program by the players we are trying to attract.

Has Pope had a fully healthy roster for ANY game he's coached at UK? Rack your brain on that one. He's apparently cursed. Everyone is always right on the verge of being healthy, but they never get there. They look awesome in practice but sit out "as a precaution."

It’s utter BS. Something is happening that’s causing so many injuries. Strength and Conditioning is bad? Practices too strenuous? Hiding the real reason players aren’t playing or just getting injury prone guys when they should be looking into this before allowing them to commit?

Whatever it is, it doesn’t absolve Pope from these poor coaching efforts.

Heels fan here, but respectfully - we’ve been going through the same thing with Hubert Davis for 5 years. I feel for you. Hoping for the best for the Blue Bloods in this weird transitory time.
Hubert objectively is a low-tier coach BUT he has gotten UNC a runner-up, including a win over Duke in the FF that ruined K's retirement. A S16 as well. That's a lot more juice than UK will squeeze out of Pope. Watch him get to an EE this year or something just to f with y'all. Neither team looked like anything more than a R32 team tonight but who knows.
