Keeneland general admission tickets are usually $5.00. Does that change for the Breeder's Cup?

AP was born at Stockplace Farm, about a half mile past my place on Briar Hill road in Lexington. Not sure why they say near Winchester. Went by the barn where he was foaled this morning and the owner was standing in front of the barn with a muck bucket.

Is the Pope Catholic?

Tickets with view of the track were $500-1000 face value. I think passes to the grounds, i.e., you can tailgate at Keeneland, were maybe $50 or so.

Thanks. I figured it did, but just wanted to make sure.

I would go head to head handicapping any day hoss. I do not go on the board and ask advice. It was a race that if you bet Pharoah there was not going to be a great payout. Which in the Preakness it was the same situation., I put Tale Of Verde in the exact box with Pharoah and another horse. It worked there, paid $124.40. With the first exacta I put the Dubai horse with Pharoah and Materiality, hoping the 1 could place, I said as such. It would have been really good payout. The 20-1 Mubtaahij finished 4th, and was running second going down the stretch. Enjoy that huge payout on AP doh, balla. I know my 2 youngest son's did, they had AP and Frosted, and it paid a nice $13.40 back for betting $12. You look for value when handicapping, not the obvious low payout. That is also why I left AP off the second ticket, not that I did not believe he would not win, but betting to win some nice money if he did not.

Make you a deal, we meet at our home track (Ellis Park in Henderson), both start with $100, bet every race, the person who has the most $$$ at the end of the day, $200. I will teach you the do's and do not's of horse handicapping and how to read a program and teach little things like up or down in class, type of runner and distance preferred, where to find value in reading the tote board. You know, stuff the makes a goob at betting, into a guy who will not embarrass himself at a nice track in front of real people.

If you look at the second exacta I bet, I had Frosted in it, was going for the bigger payout there also. I could have put Frosted and AP in the same one, and not made jack ****.

AP is one of the great horses of all time. I will be surprised if he ever races again. I know they say he will run the Breeders Cup Classic but will it really happen. I wonder what the Insurance Premium will be on AP when he races again?

The owner sold part of the breeding rights but retains the racing side of it. I think he will race in two or three more races. We'll see.

[laughing]

Did you just type 1000 words explaining how to look for value in your exotics and not just bet favorites? Wow, that's heady stuff. I also understand the premise of trying to "Beat" a horse, in this case AP. My degenerate buddy lost his *** on all 3 b/c he was determined to beat Pharoah.

I've been casually betting horses my entire adult life just like most other Kentuckians, it's just not my wheelhouse or my preferred action...nor do I spend much time or have much experience deeply studying the racing form -- I go to the track, on average, once a year. But I know how to bet horses (or anything else)

Triple Crown racing is different, the knowledge is widely available and out there in your face for weeks.

I wheeled 5/1.6.8 & also had AP wps just for fun to hopefully have a winning ticket on a Triple Crown Winner.

Anyhoo, I'll bet your stupid *** at anything you can propose, that's for certain.

Correct. You never hear that particular side of the story, which, imo, is what it's all about.

~He'll probably race 3 more times: The Haskell (even though Baffert loves this race, might be too soon to bring AP back. Might be where we see Dortmund reappear) once at Saratoga or Belmont, and the last Saturday of October at Keeneland.A wild card spot might be the Pennsylvania Derby if they're still putting up the million dollar bonus for the KY Derby winner if he wins that race at Parx.

~Far as Baffert goes, he ran into a bad patch for a while there like most trainers do. Breakdowns, some supposed positives for some horses, and the like. I'm sure we all saw that piece they did on him during the pre race broadcast. The heart attack changed his entire way of life (not like it wouldn't do that to any of us) I read today he donated $200,000 (50k each) to four tbred charities including Old Friends in Georgetown where Silver Charm is now stabled. Pretty awesome, IMO. If I had a 2yo in training, my first two phone calls would be to Baffert, and then Kiarin McLaughlin if that didn't work out.

AP is definitely one of the great horses of all time but seeing how far his times were off from Secretariat just proves that Secretariat is the GOAT. I just don't know if any horse can surpass what he did. The video of him winning the Belmont still gives me goose bumps.

Speaking of Secretariat you have to wonder if Sham would have possibly been considered one of the greats if he had came along a different year. He finished 2nd to Secretariat in both the KY Derby and Preakness and if not for his jockey trying to keep up with Secretariat at the Belmont may have won it too. He is like the Buffalo Bills of horse racing.

I did find out about the Burger King...the 200K Baffert donated was from the King being in their box. So, despite it being weird as touch, it served a good purpose.

When comparing horses, Secretariat is in a class alone. It's no knock to say a horse doesn't measure up to Secretariat.

And how many words was that in response ? Well you sure got a little upset over a rebuttal, I thought you was as cool as a cucumber ? Any way, anytime, I named the bet. Just in person, be nicer, ok ? I would have your *** laughing , buying me beers before the first race call to post if you would just SHOW Up and have a good attitude. I do not like to be so angry at me fellow catpaw fans ALL the time.

Parx will indeed try and make AP's connections an offer they can't refuse..

Also just a heads up, Pharoah will be paraded Saturday at CD's Downs after Dark for the Steven Foster day.
