The big difference this year

This year’s team has so far exceeded expectations. I think the reason for this is we are actually playing players with some size. Normally we play 4 guards and one big and that has worked up to a point. It doesn’t work when we would come up against the better teams.
This year with the size we have on the court we are one of the better teams. I looked at the incoming class for next year and we have another big coming in next year. I am looking forward to the rest of the season this is an exciting team to watch.

Our bigs this year are good with the ball, unlike our 4 and 5's of the recent past. Laura gives us a 6-2 rebounder but also someone you can run your offense through. Add in 6-3 Elif's improvement, we are so much better in the frontcourt.
Coach is bringing 6-3 Hardy and 6-4 Grace along slowly, but you can see their potential.

I agree that the size has made a difference. Coach Walz's better but smaller teams played better defense and had a go to player like Durr and Evams. The last two teams did not play that defense or score that well. This team has size, is playing defenser and has multiple scorers.
