The Open is always a nice change of pace. Nothing but (mostly) hot and plush conditions before and after it on the tour. Love seeing the wind and the elements come into play. Seeing grass that is brown and just barely alive. Different shots required, bruising wind and folks in beanies and rain gear. Always nice to see that in the dead of summer.

Cawood just pissed off all of the U.K. calling it The British Open. :scream::joy:

No clue who will win this year. Hard to bet against DJ the way he's playing. But I'd love to see Westwood finally get his major.

I'd love to see Westwood miss the cut.
I used to feel this way. But, his bothersome nature has passed me by a bit. His comments regarding DJ's fiasco with the USGA at the US Open curried a little favor with me. Yeah, his comments at the Ryder Cup were bush league and whiny, and he'll always be whiny, but like Sergio, I no longer root against him.

This is a tough call, the elements can do so many things and the draw you get on tee times can mean EVERYTHING. I just got back from Scotland and it was MISERABLE for the 10 days we were there, I would like to see them play in the mess we had to!

I like a few names, always go with a ball striker in the open;

Sergio
DJ
Adam Scott
Andy Sullivan
GMAC
Justin Rose
Westwood
Stenson

I think I am going Henrik Stenson, the boy is just too good of a ball hitter to not get his.

I love watching in the early am. Used to go grab a ton of donuts and chocolate milk or an unreal amount of McDonald's or Hardee's and watch.

I still rank the majors in order that they are played as my favorites from 1st to last.

I'll settle on Branden Grace. Danny Lee looked good at the Scottish Open. I see no reason why DJ won't be up there. Gary Woodland has made four straight Open cuts and putting has always been an issue for him. Troons green complex is not as difficult as some on the rota. I like the Piercey mention earlier in the thread. Day is the best in the world and lots of reasons to love Adam Scott. Darkhorses could be Chris Wood and Russell Knox. Going with Grace. He has the game and it seems to be his time.

Bubba is my choice. Can't see Rory or Spieth missing but you never know.

I only included Rory and Speith because they haven't been as accurate off the tee this year. Tall grass and bunkers everywhere will take one of the top guys down who struggles with accuracy this week.

True. Wouldn't shock me. Festivus may be right. Rickie not playing well either.

Saw an interesting stat on Live From today. Since the start of 2008 only 4 players have won more than 10 times on the PGA Tour. DJ and Rory with 11, Phil with 10 and some guy named Tiger with 18.
