SMH. This is why Carolina fans are a laughing stock. Coming off of a 5-7 season and having our qb and best WR leave we have fans who are "feeling good" about next season.

Nobody said which part ?
If it's the second part post #1 amd your own post #2 raised the possibility of 9-3, and playoffs?
Nobody said anything about us going 9-3 and going to the playoff. It was a discussion around ANY team going 9-3 and making it in. The OP was clearly a joke, talking about the inevitable predictions coming after spring ball. You can save the gif though, I'm sure it'll come in handy later...on my own posts no less. But at least I'll admit it!

I'd be surprised to see a 9-3 team, no matter what their schedule looked like, make it into a 12 team playoff.

When the 12 team playoff was first announced I saw a thread on another site that talked about how we'll probably argue about which 3 loss teams should be in.

A few years of those arguments and we will see demands for expansion to 16 teams in the playoff. Then, the whole thing will turn into the NBA, where pretty much any team with a winning record is in the playoffs and they last for months.

Probably. I'm one of those guys that doesn't think we need 12 teams to arrive at who is #1.

I'm one of those guys too. I think 4 pretty well covers the best teams. I think the best solution would be to have 8 12 team conferences and let the 8 conference champions play a three round "tournament" to determine the national champion. Each conference can decide how they want to determine their champion; championship game, regular season record, poll position, whatever. Each conference picks who their representative in the tournament will be. Every conference would have to have 11 conference games a season so every team plays everyone in their conference. The one other game would be for traditional rivals like Carolina/Clemson. No team would be allowed to play a lower division opponent.

Let the 35 or so teams that get left out go to a lower division.
