For the golfers here.....ANGC (Augusta National Golf Club) have reached an agreement with Tiger Woods to remake the famed "Cabbage Patch" ....the beloved nickname for the Augusta municipal golf course. This isn’t brand new news but wasn't sure if this is common knowledge. In addition to the total remake will be an added Par-3 course. The ANGC has also announced the creation of the Tiger Woods learning center for area youth...a year round facility dedicated to development and instruction, which will be funded by the ANGC for as long as "The Masters " is in existence. On your next golf trip to Hilton Head or the Bobby Jones tour...stop in Augusta and play a round or two....there are many courses to choose from to accommodate various levels of abilities.

Augusta, GA is not a real nice place to live or visit in my experience. Certain enclaves aside of course. They can use all the help they can get.

I am sorry for whatever malfeasance or difficulties you experienced....however I have lived and traveled the entire lower 48....and I love the Augusta, CSRA area.

Well, I spent weeks up there on a project back around 2007. I didn't want to leave my hotel room at night. The city was so corrupt that even the low-levels that hired us to do the project wound up in jail.

It was (for a few years) the 18 best holes in GA (Augusta National wouldn't participate) replicated in a putting course down by the river where the Gardens used to be and the replica of 16 at Augusta National w/ the statue of Jack.

I hope it's improved.

Your post makes me think of two courses.....one is the river course along the Savannah river...the other is Mt. Vintage which was constructed with similar green design to the National....the LGPA has used that course at times. I am truly sorry for you bad experience.... however many municipalities have gone thru difficult times. North Augusta is rapidly growing on the South Carolina side of the river..

It wasn't a golf course, it was a public garden w/ a replica of 16 and a statue of Jack. It was nearly on the river just south of the 13th St. Bridge. If you put google earth back to 2010 you can see the putting course and remains of the 16th hole replica.
