For this week, we'll be switching to the Gambletron 2.0 (USA Today/Massey) for our predictions. Although, the previous system was good (had MC winning 52-3 vs actual 56-6; F 55-0 vs actual 51-0; ICP beating SL, and Brook-BMac 22-17 vs 20-14). Both systems are surely better than Catch22 girlfriend's rankings.

Either call the score or the spread. AND pick all the games.

LA @ MC : two things at play here. LA is blue ready speed wise. MC healthy but how will the timing and D do the first couple drives? How about the legs in the 4th qtr? The other thing at play is LA sometimes does not look the same on the road as they do on a fall Saturday afternoon on the north shore. It could be LA 24 - 16 or MC 16-14. Since sitting on the fence is not an option, I'll say LA 24-16.

I'm still liking the U-Dawg thinking regarding Brocnos. Not seeing it. if you are basing their u-dawg status because they got beat up by MS, then I think you are underestimating them. they beat a good Lake Zurich team, and dominated in the second half. but, that's why they play the games to prove the nay sayers wrong.

Lake Zurich looked good but they were a 4-5 team last year. I think Prairie Ridge and Cary Grove have much better running games than LZ. I don't think LZ is the team they were when they played GW late in the playoffs years ago. TIme will tell.

Fenwick will be ready to get revenge from last year. The Bronco's have to many if's - No idea who will start at QB, both DE's got hurt last week, Walker may be out for the 3rd game in a row and I don't think Montini maximizes their offensive output unless #26 starts or gets playing time at slot wide receiver (I think this would really be a key move to make because on offense the Bronco's don't have anyone that will run over/or through someone like a Ryan Gorrell or Borsellino on the offensive side of the ball).

Although Montini only gave up 7 points against LZ, LZ dominated the time of possession and just did not click in the red zone. Therefore I have to go with Fenwick with the Friars playing at home in this one.

PC I think just has more speed than Rita. Unless Rita plays turnover free and low penalty football, then I just can't see them beating Provy even at Cronin Field. But who knows? PC 28 Rita 20

Rice over AC on road
LA over MC - in a close one.

Is Montini's QB injured?

I know I like him at LB but I think also needed in the rotation at slot receiver.

Wassup
I again agree with Wassup13. #26 played LB and RB last year for the Soph team and never missed a down either way. Defensively #26 had the most tackles on the team in week #1 and I am pretty sure he had the most tackles in game #2. Kinda hard to move him entirely to offense. The offense has play makers but adding #26 would give them another option and stop defenses from keying on Smith or Walker. Don't understand why he hasn't been put in on offense at least for a couple of plays and lets see what happens.

Daily Herald reported QB Norgle out due to broken finger.

Wassup
If Norgle is out for this game then Morrissey will have to step up. I liked what he brought to the table in game two. Pretty accurate passer and can throw the long ball when he has time to pass. Another reason if my opinion to have #26 playing some on offense. By the way I hope you are wrong on the Fenwick game. They beat a pretty good Phillips team but had to come from behind to do it. Montini needs to put some pressure on Fenwick's QB as he had good games against Phillips and Bowen.

But Morrissey is the better QB? Yes/No? Sad to hear about the other kid
better kid? not sure I would proclaim that. but not mine to proclaim. not sure you could figure that out with the limited showing(s) of the two. either way, Bronco Football becomes a better team with two quality QB's that are competing every week for a starting job. I likes....

didn't Phillips score at will until they decided to hand the ball over 4 or 5 times? not sure anyone is going to win by multiple turnovers. btw, Friar is a way better team than last year and this is going to be hard fought...but. from a pure AThlete standpoint, I am putting my money on Broncos speed demons, who should all be back and on Offense.

Don't know. Seen very limited play with Morrissey and he played well in the 2nd half last week. Norgle just was having problems his first one and a half games. Heard he had a bad back and now broken finger. I believe the same thing happened to John Rhode and he missed the first 5 games of the season back in 2009. That year the Bronco's started a wide receiver at QB playing at Loyola and he threw 3 TD's to Jordan Westerkamp. Montini got beat bad in that game.

I'm sure the only people underestimating anyone are the pros on the forums. I can almost 100% guarantee that none of the boys on Rita OR PC are taking this game lightly.

MC and LA as well as SR and PC will dictate the quality of the CCL this year as Rice should be between 2 and 4 in the conference and LA and Rice have beaten some good teams already this year so we know fairly well what they are.

LA travel is horrendous and hurts most of the match ups in the CCL Blue when LA is involved. LA lost to MC when LA had no QB and MC needed the win to get in. I still think MC is the only CCL team that can beat LA, as Rice may be better than MC and both get LA at home, the Rice offense allows LA to be on the field too long while Frank is a master at understanding what the big picture is and how to control it.

MC will control the clock and keep it close and who knows how it will end. My guess 21-17 MC

SR and PC will end up not telling us anything unless it is blowout one way or the other. A close game and the early losses could still be bad losses or good teams having a slow start to the season. My guess PC 28-17, only thing keeping it this close is it is at Rita.

The key for Brother Rice's season is can the offense stay on the field long enough for the defense to be effective. They lost in the playoffs last year becasue of this and also let Crete keep it close. The talent is definitely there for them to outscore anyone but the defense needs to be helped. Rice wins but the bigger key is that they should win handily....will AC hand around similar to SF last year.

Fenwick may have the new stadium boost as I would guess that infuses the program. Montini needs to get healthy and has a tough start to the season with Rice next week. This game won't make or break either but it could bolster Fenwick.....Fenwick 24-21

Laurence lost a key player last week and my guess there is some intensity here. If Mac is healthy I think they have the edge here as both teams had tough games last week and if they are back to full strength this would be a great game to take in...this is a toss-up and special teams will be the difference....MAC 48-45

Point of clarification, BR is @ AC (not the other way around).
Understand AC is starting a 14-year old freshman at QB so offense will be limited. Stud QB sustained a hip fracture on 2nd play of game in week #1. If AC stays within 14 it is because Rice is resting starters in prep for Montini next week.
