Have watched this at least 2-3 times now.

Man if Louisville didn’t airball the last shot or had Bilas blocked out Ellison (easier said then done) that team prolly wins K his first title. They deserved to win that championship since that team progressed each season.

But like one of them said, every title Duke has won started with the foundation THEY laid, even though they didn’t win one.

Also, Jay talking about Coach K with that “clicker” while reviewing film had me cracking up cause I remember those old things.

For those who missed it a few months back!

Must see for all Duke fans! I really enjoyed it, and it brought back a lot of memories. I relived that season with them, and I had forgotten how long I have been a Duke fan (Man, I feel old :)).
How enjoyable it was watching the love that group has for each other and listening to some of their stories.
After watching that, it only made me want that Title for them all over again!

Go Duke!

Think that story was about the thumping UVA did to Duke that night, and one guy there said here’s to forgetting this game. K said no, here’s to never forgetting this game!

There's always a few defining moments and/or quotes that puts things in perspective and are never forgotten for a fan....this is probably top two or three for me as a Duke fan.

Another that I always loved, and I don't know why it stands out so much, is when the 2010 seniors had their senior meal at K's house before their final home game. K always makes the seniors tell their best story or memory from their four years at Duke. Jon Scheyer answered, "mine hasn't happened yet." One of those that make the hair on the back of neck pop up to this day.

I know that I will NEVER forget that game either!

I've told my story about the Duke/UNLV game when Duke was slaughtered by the Runnin' Rebels and how I beat the VHS tape up...well here is another game that I had set my VCR to record...and you're going to know how this played out when I give you the set-up to what transpired earlier.

So, I left for work knowing it would probably be a loooong day for me ) late into the night or morning)...and it was. I worked on a truck dock at that time, at a small terminal where there were only a couple guys working at night (and none of them basketball fans...so no one to tell me the score). Anyway, I set the VCR timer before I left, and told my wife not to tell me who won the game (she always left me a note...because she usually would be asleep when I got home).

As I said, I expected a long night (Friday's were always bad), and it was...think I worked 13 or 14 hours on the dock, and I got home around 3:30 am. I was a little tired, and was deciding whether I wanted to watch the game, or sleep a few hours and watch it when I got up. Well, I spied my wife's note on the table, and started to read it...and in spite of what I told her, she wrote...oh, and Duke WON! OMG, I couldn't believe it, Samson and Virginia were a juggernaut, and Duke...not so much (think we won about 10 games that year). So, hell yeah, I'm stoked, and ready to watch my Devils pull off one of the great upsets of all time!

Okay, I'm watching, and we're not doing very well...to say the least. We're down big, but I'm not worried...'cause this comeback is going to be so sweeeeet. With maybe 10 minutes to go in the game and down a shitload...I'm starting to think that this is going to be the biggest comeback in Duke history...or maybe, just maybe something terribly wrong is going on here. When it gets to the 3 minute mark, I'm starting to feel just a little rage (no hell no, it's uncontrollable RAGE). I really wanted to stop at this point because my blood pressure had to be 400 over 200, but no, I was hell bent to finish punishing myself by watching the conclusion of the massacre. I didn't slam anything down, or throw the tape away, I just quietly walked into my wife's and my bedroom and EXPLODED!
So, I too will never forget that game, and I don't think my wife ever told me the score of another game again.*

*I don't think I ever found out how she got so messed up on thinking Duke had won. She knew how much I loved Duke basketball and just wanted to give me a little present. And yes, I later apologized for going nuts, and being the incredibly great wife she is, she forgave me.

That was something unreal and special. I also love when Coach uses positive affirmation in critical situations. 1991 FF against UNLV he told his team “when Christian makes these 2 free throws” and naturally when he told the team they were going to win the game against Kentucky with 2.2 seconds left. No negativity whatsoever from Coach.

All I can hear is Zion Williamson saying “killers kill” thinking about those moments.

The other thing that stood out to me was when they discussed the story where Dean Smith was beating his fist at the press table and didn’t get a tech but the refs gave K one for doing the same.

K said, “I called out the double standard that Dean Smith had compared to the other coaches and now everyone says that about me today!”

Very interesting!

I know they became good friends at the end but “fu** you Dean!” will ALWAYS be my favorite Coach K quote.

The GOAT didn’t take any **** from anyone!

I think Coach K sent dean a powerful message that night that the he was not the only big gun in the ACC anymore. He held that title just for a short time longer because the new kid in town was not intimidated by him at all. Coach K had been ctiticized for being disrespectful to dean but in reality he was saying I got you. OFC

He's had some pretty good post-game soundbites.

Can't find a clip for this one. Here's a pic. It was right after Duke's win over Virginia Tech in the S16. The reporter asked him what is it with all the close games.
