Really. Way too many wackos on the West coast. You couldn’t pay me enough to live out there or in the northeast. Also of course no Minnesota.

That part of Washington is not nearly as liberal as Seattle and the coastal areas.Pullman is just a few miles from Idaho and I absolutely love the Montana,Colorado,Idaho ,And Wyoming area.
That being said it’s pretty remote,But the Ames ,Iowa area is not exactly a happening place either.

Living in Washington state, one year is too much.
Just like CA, nice place to visit but not for long-term residency.
That area is almost on the border with ID. Some of lonliest open plain you'll ever see. But Aimes, IA is almost as bad.

This. It blows my mind when folks label all of the west coast "wacko." Like, tell me you haven't visited the west coast without telling me. There's basically Seattle, Portland, the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Travel anywhere outside of those areas, and it's pretty damn "normal" if not downright conservative.

Eastern/central WA & OR would probably be cool with breaking with the western portion of their states and merge with Idaho. I don’t know much about this but I think one county in Oregon looked into the legitimacy and feasibility of such several years ago.

Love the little bits of Idaho and Wyoming I have been able to visit. I love the south, but if a “turn key” opportunity to move arose, that would be ver difficult to say no to.

My son has lived in Colorado Springs for a while and I love that part of the country.Everybody out there seems to take advantage of great outdoor activities that are available.Had I moved out there right out college I don’t think I’d have come back this way.
