coming to a very close end....tread very carefully
Although I agree that names and reasons should never be posted. I think transfers should be talked about. Its a big part of the football landscape these days. I don't see any difference or harm in saying MtC Stud RB transferred to IMG than MV Stud QB transferred to NC. It gets the conversation going about how certain teams will look come August.

I think the issue is in the former (IMG example) it was publically announced and in the newspaper. In the latter example - it has not been announced and therefore "just a rumor" until it is either announced or first day of Summer Camp starts.

Lol says the guy who originally brought the rumor to the board and then decided to have a discussion on it. I dodged the bus btw.

All kidding aside it's your board edgy so do as you please but when is it ok to discuss on a message board? I'd say it's pretty relevant, lots of people know about it as the parties involved are telling people. I understand you want to keep rumors off the board but it's a huge part of the sport and a hot button issue at this point. So my genuine question is when is it ok to talk about? When it hits the newspapers as hippo mchypocrite suggested? When the player starts classes at the new school? When he plays his first game? I mean this will obviously be discussed at some point, it's unavoidable, but when is it ok for us to discuss it?

Why not just wait until the kid actually shows up at the school that would seem to make it pretty easy would it not? Unfortunately this won't allow you to be the cool guy that knows the big news before everyone else.

Oh man you nailed it! What will I do if ClownBaby doesn't think I'm cool? Me not posting things like this could have horrible ramifications. So you vote for when a player starts at new school? Therefore it's ok to talk about a posters son who has spent over a month at a new school? If people want to play the high school roulette game it kind of opens the door to discussion, I fail to see the harm in that.

With that being said it's edgy's board and if not talking about it on here until said player starts at the new school is the expectation I'll fall into line, but me not mentioning it here doesn't mean it isn't being talked about ad nauseam elsewhere.

Fair enough, lesson learned. I'll bring it up in summer when he's wearing a different helmet. Until then I will have to find other ways to impress the people on this board

Trust me this has been an issue now for awhile for me on this board....and it's just something that when it involved a minor and the kid is still in school makes it even more difficult to let hang out there.

Just hold the phone there TPF - The only thing I said on the board was a couple months ago when I said " I am hearing NC might be getting a QB coming in from the area" I did not list any names, nor schools.

When you provided the details - all I asked was... wow was it confirmed and now public knowledge?

Im not trying to run over you or anyone with my bus or my hippo. and speaking of that...

don't call me a Hippo:mad: I'm touchy about my weight and you hurt my feelings;) LOL!!

I was hoping you wouldn't take my post too seriously, glad you didn't. At edgy's wishes I will leave it at that.

All good.. I hear ya and get where you coming from

The influx definitely makes NC a team to watch and one of the favorites in the DVC. will be a lot of fun to talk about this summer!!

Talking about it before it happens lead people to believe most transfers are sports related or something other than the true reason. Consider most individuals have no clue who most are on this site, the wrong information can create a crap storm for no reason. More people read than type on this board.

I miss the old enigmatic posts.

"A certain left-hander who features a quick release and quicker feet on the other side of the ball is considering taking his talents 7.21 miles due north-northwest, to a team with a rival the same colors as his former. His toll would be $3.75 if he were driving a vehicle with three axles."

Naper Central will be an overwhelming favorite to win the DVC and be a strong contender for a state title next year. They have three really good classes back -to-back. It's gonna suck :(

I think WV will beat them (regardless of the transfer question) But we will find out this fall!! Also I think GBN will be good as well and could beat either of those two teams (NC and WV) on any given night. Will be fun to see how the last year of the 9 team DVC plays out!!

as long as all the comments " are the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me god" take the stand .
