Good for you, you know they say you don't need sunglasses to look at an eclipse.

Nah....learned that you can't look directly at an eclipse without protection when I was in the 3rd grade back in the 60's. They showed us how to make something to look at it safely. The "they" you referenced must the the same people who have duped you into believing the beyond ridiculous notions that the earth is flat, that there is no such thing as outer space, and that you can't visit Antarctica on your own. Of course, you don't believe any of that to start with, as you're only trolling for attention.

You must not have seen my other post. I would very much like to hear the explanation of the "scientific myth" meme without other memes or emojis. In other words, in your own words. Please.

I saw it, but you aren't worth interacting with on that level. You should have been more respectful in our past encounters.

Respectful, that's funny! I was actually just curious how you would weasel out of actually answering using your own words. I knew you couldn't do it.

Do you enjoy being made a fool of? I don't understand why you just don't take your shtick over to a circlejerk flat-earth message board. You've gained absolutely zero ground over here. Everything you have posted has been absolutely destroyed with science, math, facts, reason, and the observable universe. You flat out refuse to engage in the dialog you asked for in your initial post (it's clear you came with an agenda). You deleted a post where you stated the terms in which you would concede the earth is round. And, at this point I think you're actually using memes that were originally made to mock flat-earthers.

Curious...and yet here you are, like a moth to my flame.

I don't care what you are waiting for anymore *******.

I don't give a damn how you feel, to be honest.

Good for you, you know they say you don't need sunglasses to look at an eclipse.

If you can't see the exaggerated "curvature" in that video, well, sucks to be you.

Only 3 pages of quotes and this is the guy that says he won't answer my direct questions because I was not respectful enough to his liking; however, it seems you basically insult everyone you reply to that questions your side of things. The gig if up, homie.

I tried to be respectful for a bunch of pages and questions.... There are no memes for my questions, so I guess I made the rank of A hole

You got their eventually. You did ask some very good questions and I've been looking into them, but alas then you had to be a dick so, here we are.

You're deflecting. And you're not the appointed moral compass. It's time to start defending your position with your own words and not memes. You won't because you can't.

Question for Bill: Do you get off EACH time someone other than you bumps your awful thread or is it a once a day build up type of thing.

You don't really want me to leave, each new post I make just adds to your troll job legacy. You've obviously been around for a long time so I'm sure it's killing you that you didn't get to do all this under your "real" name so everyone would know how great of a troll you are.

You should stick to your day job, prognostication apparently isn't your thing.

Is quoting your way of making sure people come back?

Flat earth or no flat earth, you're a loser, so congrats on what's likely you're greatest life accomplishment, a 55 page thread that you got people to continually respond to.

Why can't we see Cuba from Florida?

Atmospheric conditions don't allow for it. There is dust, water vapor and other obstructive elements that prevent it. Also there are limits to what you can see, due to the laws of perspective everything approaches a 'vanishing point' at which the limits of sight come into play. Now, with modern telescopic and optical equipment some of these things can be extended, like seeing Chicago across Lake Michigan, Toronto from 35 miles away etc. I'll come back and post some pictures of my own when the new Nikon is released with its 125X optical zoom, should be illuminating.

Hey, hoss, you do know what atmosphere means, right?

I'm looking forward to the total solar eclipse on Monday, August 21st. Reports indicate as many as 50 million Americans may be somewhere along the path of totality on eclipse day. Many towns on the path are planning festivals: food, music, etc.

Yes, you will need eye protection to view the partial eclipse phase. You can pick up a pair of eclipse glasses on the Internet for about a dollar. (They should be rated ISO 12312. Black polymer is the preferred material.) I expect many merchants will offer free glasses with their promo logos as eclipse day approaches.

When the eclipse is total (moon fully covers the sun) -- you will NOT need eye protection. You can remove the glasses and enjoy the spectacular sight!

Unfortunately Brushy is not a skeptic but a denier. A "skeptic" is a person open to scientific inquiry, critical investigation, and reasoning to establish a claim. A "denier" rejects evidence a priori without objective consideration.

In other words his worldview is much like a religion, locked in belief and faith. He'll always refuse to accept easily performed experiments or observations that disprove his views. He won't think independently. He'll only parrot long ago discredited doctrines of 19th century flat earth leaders (like Rowbothan,"ice walls"). He's uninterested in rational inquiry.

Carl Sagan pointed out the folly of conversing with deniers in his book "The Demon-Haunted World" over 20 years ago. It's pointless.

Ooppsss...the aether exists, just like Michelson and Morley determined that it did, or so says the US Air Force. I wonder why this isn't more well known.

Looking at a more detailed map today, it looks like we will have to drive about an hour to be in the total eclipse. I'm thinking a hike up to Clingman's Dome in the Smokies would make for a spectacular spot.

I'm as excited about the eclipse as I am to eat a Ferrell's burger and some chili!

I've never been to Hopkinsville. I looked this up and I want to go. But I assume with the amount of tourists that will be in town that day it will be quite a daunting task

There's one in Madisonville as well. We're doing all of our eating/drinking/sleeping in M'ville away from the masses.
