The fact that another SEC fanbase would REVOLT at hiring our coach tells you all you need to know about the state of our program.

Terrible look for UK and Stoops. Take this opportunity to cut bait and upgrade.
No it doesn't, only the never happy always miserable message board members think that. Anyone reasonable is pretty happy to keep Stoops, under any circumstance because the odds of getting an "Upgrade" is pretty damn low. Not impossible, but I'll keep Stoops for now.

Which programs would accept Stoops with open arms that would be a step up for him? Would OSU be more receptive because of his Ohio roots and ability to recruit B1G territory? Michigan because of his ability to recruit against OSU? Penn St if that job ever opened? Florida if something happens to Napier? Clemson if Deebo moves on? Florida State? Is Miami a lateral move at this point? What about the West coast? UCLA?

Iowa is probably the only realistic chance of him leaving unless fired down the road and a lesser buyout is negotiated.

They would all revolt.

Only Kentucky and our loser mindset is satisfied with mediocrity.

Exactly, because so many UK coaches have been worthy of programs like A&M, I can't believe we haven't figured out how to get Saban here. The idiots of this board are out in force tonight
I'm quite happy not to simply be known as a coaching graveyard anymore. Those who can not appreciate the improved state of our program may well deserve a return to Curry type performances.

so a few crazy fans means the entire fanbase now lol. Stoops is a high level coach. He proved that yesterday again. Just watching the bonehead interception by our QB yesterday trying to give the game away shows how difficult this season has been trying to spit against the wind.

I think it speaks more to how unrealistic the A&M fanbase is. Stoops has some questions to answer for sure but A&M is fanbase that doesn’t really know they are and is unrealistic with what they expect to be currently
Exactly, all this tells me is that while I agree that he’s not much of an upgrade if at all over Jimbo, there expectations are unrealistic in the pecking order of the conference.

I agree with this. BUT, it is a little depressing that we have gone about as far as we can go and have seen our ceiling. SEC is just too much.

Stoops and UK might be stuck with each other because it’s the best either can do.

We could honestly hire just about anyone and never make the CFP. We don’t have the money to compete with the big boys. Stoops has almost won 11 games here. That’s about the most UK can win IMO.

That’s just being a realist on the current state of our donor base. Kentucky is a poor state with very few Uber rich donors. Look at Arkansas for example. They have unlimited money basically.

Well its also bc AM wants to hire a a championship blue blood coach.

Something that UK couldn't do no matter what anyway. I mean I get it, some of you believe kiby smart and saban would come if mitch just made the right contravt that you would....but they aren't, ever
TAMU won’t get them either.

Maybe all of this can quell some of stoops recent turn into the attitude of ‘look at all I’ve done’ over this last season. He’s gotten more detached from reality and some of the fan base isn’t coming back unless he actually puts together a season where they don’t have a choice.

After this fiasco he’s untouchable. Can you imagine an ad at ohio state trying to announce him as coach when your fans watched mother school have a revolt to keep him from being hired?

We can’t be Alabama or Georgia no doubt. But whatever has been done in the last several years has been done with hardly any semblance of an offense so there’s still some room to grow it just isn’t very likely with stoops because he’s the one that doesn’t have an understanding of that side of the ball.

I kinda doubt he got much changed to his current contract. I’d be annoyed if he got more money.

I don’t even worry about stoops contract. He is looking to leave for a “bigger” job. The contract will fix itself if you are. Stoops detractor. Plus, it’ll probably “fix” itself after a big season.

Exactly when do you remember the state of our program being better? Do you go back to Bear Bryant?
No. I can assure you with the name UKMG. He does not go back that far.

No older than 30 would be my guess

Unless he’s a very immature 36 yr old which is a huge possibility

I think he acknowledged that as much in a post game phone call to the ksr crew yesterday.

I know a lot of fans are disappointed in the last two years, but I have yet to in person met a fan who has left the fanbase.

There may be a few but I don’t know how. Most of us grew up with zero chance at a bowl most years and would still listen to every game we could and watch the 1-3 games they actually played on tv.

8 consecutive bowl seasons if someone needs a reason to come back then maybe they should get an Ohio state shirt and call it a day.

I don’t know a single fan that isn’t disappointed with the last two seasons, yet most fans remember a time when the last two seasons would also be the peak of their lifetime before stoops. That says a lot about where the program is now in my opinion.
