The final straw

That loss is the last straw. Penn State is a bad basketball team and could’ve easily been beaten tonight by anybody in the big ten. Wholesale changes are absolutely necessary. Nance, Beran,Buie and Audgie have gotta go, no if’s, and’s or buts! They’ve had their time, gotten all the playing time and it hasn’t worked. It’s time to move on.

Gotta hope the young guys, Roper, Simmons, Berry, Nicholson and Barnhizer don’t hit the portal. Ryan Young has been grossly under utilized and may want to leave unless they clean house. As soon as Young gets it rolling, he’s pulled from the game? How can you expect these players to sit on the bench and watch the same players get all the minutes and blow game, after game, after game with no changes in the lineup or in playing time. This program needs a complete and total overhaul. On the bright side, if the young guys don’t leave there are some good players for the future and maybe even some stars. They just need a chance!

Not playing Young more is baffling and indefensible. While not always smooth, he is so effective in the post. Playing him and Nance together is seemingly so obvious and yet Collins rarely does it.

Ok. What are you going to do with all those straws?

Since we are stuck with Collins for at least 2 more seasons, I predict a lot of final straws over the next 60+ B1G games..

and a lot of empty seats in the arena.....
Or filled with weird colors. Maybe they can rename the stadium to ‘Visitors’ Second Home’ and start planning their in game marketing strategies to play to visitor fans 🤷‍♂️

Or they can just lease it out to select BIG teams and they can have a "home game" in the Chicago area. I say that sarcastically, but the interest is at an all time low for this product and I fear for football as well.

Not going to happen. We’re not talking about Fitz, this will be the last season.
This year? NFW, even if (when) they lose-out. He ain't going anywhere. No budget or pressure to fire him. Look how long it took to get rid of McCall, and, sadly, basketball is actually better than McCall's offenses

Then that's on Gragg, welcome to the big leagues. Hopefully he understood the job and the pressures.

JP let Fitz do what he wanted and we see where that got us.

I’ll predict a short term for gragg. FB will suck again next year and will be manned by a stubborn yet untouchable coach. No money to buy out a terrible MBB coach. Gragg will see his fortune is not lining up like his predecessors and bow out to save his career.

Otherwise, he grows old, fat and bitter. Mr. Taylor II, welcome to Evanston.

I think he is short time as well, and the new president will put "their" person in the position. I doubt he knew what he was getting into.

Wonder how Ryan feels about spending so heavily to usher in the next dark ages.

Why is it some are saying similar things about both basketball and football? Give the young guys a chance. certainly won't hurt to give that a try, since they'll be playing eventually anyway. But if the problems are coaching related, what difference does it make?

Based on his corporate success he can probably identify weakness pretty easily. He is very hands off, but I bet he wants to see the stadium redo in his lifetime.
