Sorry this has nothing to do with the burger joint.

There are eight wrestlers who finished a tournament with five pinfalls.

Name them.

Bill Koll?
Holy crap. There were three guys who did everyone dirty in 1948.

In addition to Koll, John Fletcher and Verne Gagne ran the string. That was an odd year. But odd in a beautiful way. The tournament was used as a semifinal of sorts for that year's Olympic trials so freestyle rules and Olympic bracketing (black mark system) were used leading to this priceless entry in the 1949 Wrestling Guide:

"Unlike the usual tournaments, Olympic Rules were used and both contestants and spectators were greatly confused over the technicalities. However, the tournament was witnessed by capacity crowds and after the Friday sessions much of the difficulties were straightened out and Saturday's finals went along on scheduled time. It is the consensus of opinion of all concerned that a much better tournament would have been
had under our American rules.

However, after the final Olympic Tryouts it was the general opinion that the tournament under Olympic rules was a help to the college men and officials. The experience was worth while for the contestants and officials. Olympic weight classes as well as rules were used. A clinic for officials was held the evening of the 18th of March."

There is so much to love there, let's take a minute to appreciate it. First, deciding to wrestle freestyle and confusing the participants is just fantastic. Chaos is what you want in a tournament, and chaos you shall have.

Then you get the shot at the organizers with the consensus opinion that freestyle is garbage.

But the author immediately pulls it back some by admitting that it did prepare them for the Olympics. Side note: in the 1948 Olympics the US won 4 medals. Two of the four were won by non-college wrestlers (G and B), one was won by the 174 lb NCAA champ, Glen Brand (G). And one was won by an NCAA wrestler who failed to crack the top four at the NCAA tournament, Gerry Leeman (S).

Finally, we get the admission that as of the night before the tournament they were not confident the refs knew the rules. I wonder why there was great confusion?

Albright didn't pin 5 of 5 in 1986 though, because Kirk Trost of Michigan won the UNL title that year. Albright might have pinned five with two consolation matches, but five falls and a loss don't mean as much. He lost to Trost in the semis.
