I disagree, there isn't a fix, I just think the refs are just that incompetent. No less than 8 uk fouls have been a direct result of a usc player launching himself into a uk defender. The refs blow the whistle every time.
Of course we all know how blind Jim Burr is.

We've shot more free throws and are up 15. Refs must be on our side??

exactly . the only thing more annoying then people who ceaselessly bash Andrew are people who act like reffing in the SEC isn't a huge problem.

Yes it is bad, but there is no agenda for every ref to screw UK.

Exactly. There's a difference between horrible officiating and conspiracy to beat UK. And I thought they called a decent game - there were a LOT more fouls they could have called.

I just hate the inconsistency - if you're going let hand checks go, please let them go ALL game - not every now and then. If you're going to let the players bang inside, don't turn around on the next play and call it a foul. Learn what a block/charge is supposed to be.

I know how subjective officiating is - and that these guys are only human, but sometimes......

Shame Cal had to get ad for the refs to straighten up SOME. They gave Carera, the borderline dirty player, at least two or three fouls it seemed just because he was so over matched and was playing hard. They did let Dakari get physical a couple of times but they seemed to be allowed to play rougher than us. Our guys look paranoid sometimes if they get too close on defense.

Jim Burr should be put out to pasture. He was turrible as Sir Charles would say.

ESPN helps incompetent or crooked refs by not replaying fouls called against key players at key times.I noticed that they did not replay the touch fouls Willie got within a few minutes of each other. To keep refs under the microscope of honesty REPLAYS must be shown.

How about the time the ref called an offensive foul on the SC dribbler when Harrison went flying backward from a forearm shiver to open space? Anyone hear the TV guy say Wow! when the crowd got upset over the obvious foul? On the replay it was an easy foul to call yet the TV guy joined the crowds displeasure. When they showed the replay he said something like 'yeah, it was.' He was making it sound like thet was getting ripped. Easy to see who he was for deep down with an out burst like that.

Yeah, the Cauley fouls was crook calls that hurt us with him out. When you see so many touch fouls on one end and brutal play on the other end let go several times easy to see how bad or how crooked the refs are. We have had trouble with Groover before, not just a one man ref wrecking crew.

Yep - inconsistency and just generally poor at their job doesn't mean their anti-UK. They just suck.

Well said. I have stated this before, we tend suffer more from these inconsistencies. This is not because the refs are cheating against us. It is because of our aggressive style of play. Hard nose, meet you at the rim defense and drive to the basket offense. Our guys are just simply in a position to suffer from bad calls often.
