Barry Allen is my favorite character and DC screws it up every time.

I agree. His death in Crisis on Infinite Earths 8 is one of the greatest moments in all of comic history, but that was almost 40 years ago, and he hasn't been handled great since then. The DCAU's probably the worst offender, since in close to 100 total episodes of Justice League and JLU, he doesn't appear once. XD

The Flashpoint paradox animated movie is absolutely amazing though. That story is why I like him to begin with.
