Knowing Nebraska's luck, an Iowa defender would have come in with a burst of speed and took it to the house, or Carter would have dropped it. Well, not really, he has pretty good hands. Lot of what if's for this game.

Just shows that the play was well designed and Tommy decided to go all super man again.

I have a little more faith in the coaching staff after seeing this.

Yeah, I felt better after reading this "Head coach Mike Riley said the play call "had other options" aside from the fade route to Brandon Reilly that Armstrong chose. As later replays showed, one of those options was a wide-open tight end Cethan Carter in the left flat for what almost certainly would have been a first down."

I still think we should have run the ball there, but man, Tommy's mistakes are ones the coaches obviously believe a reasonable quarterback wouldn't make.

I actually don't really care about the actual playcall. But I saw far too many times Langsdorf calling pass plays on second/third/fourth and short this year. It's ridiculous and now I understand why Riley got fed up with him at Oregon St and pulled his play calling duties away.

so as a staff take away his ability to make bad options...take the fade out of the play!!!! be smarter than your players

A 3 yr starter needs to make better decisions, period. The fade was not open turn and find option 2 wide freaking open.
