Can't sleep tonight so I watched the first episode on Netflix of The Get Down....which led to watching all of it... May be one of the best, if not the beat thing I've seen on Netflix. Tells the story of two aspiring artists in the Bronx in 1970's. Essentially shows the death of disco and birth of hip hop and graffiti craze... The way it is done with bits and pieces being actual footage of the campaigns, life, fires, blackout, riots is phenomenal...but that is to be expected when Baz Luhrmann is calling the shots....

I watched all six episodes again and it blew me away. It captured the cavalier mantra of the hip hop graffiti craze in the Bronx that we're all very familiar with and even better yet, the riots were phenomenal. I have never been more turned on in my life by graffiti and riots.
