i once saw the goodyear blimp land in high winds at the lexington airport for keeneland one year. i sat parked not a 100 yards away and watched as it had to fly at almost a 30 downwards angle into the wind to reach the ground. was the days before cell phone cameras and videos but it was using max power just to land in high winds. then the ground crew worked super fast to secure it. was crazy!
