I was thinking how the basketball team had Hundley.... then West... then Rod Thorn... all from about 1954 to 1964... with none of them overlapping. Must have been amazing time to have watched WVU basketball. Go back to the early 1940s, and WVU was NIT champs when it was THE tournament.
The Kentucky also reminded about reading about WVU's trip to the Kentucky invitational tournament back in the late 1950s. Beat North Carolina and Rupp's Kentucky - on back to back nights... on Kentucky's home floor. As I said... must have been quite the time.
