This clears up next to nothing. There will be a blizzard of new lawsuits as a result of this.
The Devil is always in the details and we get precious few of the details in the current reports.
It seems with the limits placed on spending by the colleges that they plan for football to get the biggest share of the dollars. But is that accurate? Could a Villanova forget football and outspend the BIG schools and build unbeatable All-Star basketball teams?
Are there new limits on the number of players on a football squad? If there are what is the new number? Fewer scholarships for football mean fewer "student athletes". Is this not a compromise to better the opportunities for the kids? It isn't? Oh pardon me for being naive.
The sooner they bring a player union to minor league football the better. The players are being robbed under the current system.

Agree. There might already be a plan in place of those on the chopping block. The only hope for survival for some of those sports that are revenue negative is for some rich donors to designate monies for their scholarships. How will this impact Title IX that has afforded so many young ladies scholarship opportunities?

Instead of polluting the message boards of rival teams , I encourage you to embrace the many boards affiliated with your Alma Mater.
