This is a long way from being over. We should all be concerned that Olympic sports might be sacrificed - especially at lower divisions - to continue to fund the voracious appetite of major college football and basketball players.
Unfortunately Congress might cause more of a problem instead of helping with a solution given their record.

The courts just tossed the next hand full of dirt on what WAS collegian sports. What springs up when the grass starts to grow on the grave could be good or bad. Stay tuned!

“Starting at quarterback for Penn State today against Nevada is Jaxon Smolik, as number-one quarterback Drew Allar continues his contract holdout…”

That’s the point - there are no contracts….at least ones that have any teeth.

I just a$$ume they aren’t done f*cking things up.

O.K., contract, schmontract. Kids wanna get paid. They will push for more and more cash money. The money their schools are pulling in isn’t a secret.

Gee, Sandy baby really knows how to run an athletic department amirite?

Also, side note... there was a guy on the BOT, I think they didn't like what he said one time so they kicked him off it, but I'm pretty sure he had a good picture of our financial situation and it wasn't too rosy.... and the University (and idiot old guard supporters) said, na, we're good, we're gonna go ahead with building this monstrosity of a stadium, financials be damned... even though $20m+ is now going to have to come from somewhere just to pay these guys...

Maybe Franklin can pony up some of the coin? Hm...

I mean, Kraft said it's not true. Elevate was announced as our ticketing partner long ago. Is it bad reporting? Maybe. I'll take Kraft's word on it.

I'm not even saying Kraft is lying... but we have a new $20m budget hole that we previously didn't have to fill... plus, now the stadium tranche..

Last season we made an additional $14m for playoff appearances and $9m to cover expenses, according to this article.

How are we gonna pay for private jets and condos?

Also - CBS Sports article is pretty good. Think PSU is trying to be coy about what exactly PSU is getting here.

Check out that Texas School Fund. Does this mean the taxpayers of Texas are going to be funding programs that the Longhorns play against?
