Shinjuku is the first really major “ultra urban” stop on the trains when you leave yokota air base (which is in fussa district) -

shinjuku is really fun - constantly visually entertaining and incredibly expensive

I was there from 93-95 and still can’t believe it happened

if you’re ever in Tokyo - ignore the hype of roppongi and hang in shinjuku
