I take perverse pride in having attended three of the most notable collapses in local sports history: (1) NU basketball's 27-point collapse against MSU yesterday; (2) NU football's 38-3 collapse against MSU in 2006; and (3) the Cubs' blown 3-0 lead with 5 outs to go in Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS a/k/a the Bartman game. Who else has endured such misery?

Wow. Gonna be tough to top those 3. Although as a life-long NU, Indians, Browns and Cavs fan I might aspire to a lifetime (non)achievement award.

I watched 1 and 2 unfold before my eyes but I was spared being there in person.
I sat through many a beating on the football field during the 80s like when Marion Barber impersonate Jim Brown. I don't know which is worse, being hopeless or having hope crushed like a grape.
I'm in the same club. The Browns and Tribe have had some heartbreakers. I have hated the Broncos for nearly 30 years because of "the drive." I hope Trevor goes somewhere else so I can start hating them again.
Watched numero uno whilst working out. Watching the collapse actually helped my cardio, but certainly not my mood.
Was at number dos. In the press box, drinking free NU beer. CJ was throwing it all over the place, the D was flying around, and it's 35 to three good guys. I was in a really good place. Nick breaks his leg, and the game snowballed in disastrous fashion. Game ends, MSU guys are jumping around at midfield, and I couldn't get out of Ryan fast enough!
As for the Bartman fiasco, I was rooting for the Marlins. Is that wrong?

I was at 1 and 2, and while I technically didn't have tickets to #3, I was out there on Waveland the whole game and experienced the horror along with everyone else, just without being able to actually see what happened.

Almost the same for me, except I was on Waveland for Game 7, which, while not as bad as Game 6, was still really awful.
Oh I was there on Waveland for that, too. I knew heading in that there was no way they were winning that game after the previous night.
Me too, but like an idiot I allowed Kerry Wood’s homer to give me hope, and, well...
Fortunately all this stopped mattering in late 2016.
Gonzalez butchered a double play ball and Prior lost his composure. Mark Prior, million dollar arm, 10 cent mind. People can blame Bartman’s bonehead reach, but the team could have overcame it and didn’t.
