I more than understand what can be done and how it can be done. The Governors makes the call on the National Guard first. If they refuse to take action to protect their citizens then the President can take several steps to restore order and he can use the Marine Corps and Federalize the National Guard to do it and he doesn't need the Congress to ok it. But if they want to explain why they don't then they can choke up on that bat and give it a swing.

It's going to get worse. This is all pre planned and designed to slowdown ICE as they execute their deportation orders.
This will be playing out all Summer in other cities like Chicago, New York, Boston, Atlanta, and anywhere else where there are Democrat Mayors with large illegal migrant populations susceptible to ICE raids.
They want the chaos, they want the intimidation, they want the lawlessness so they have footage of Trump's brutal crackdown which they can use to fundraise and stir up more opposition to Trump's policies.
If you weren't on board supporting the big beautiful bill's passing and giving immediate reinforcements to beleaguered ICE agents, this organized mayhem should change your mind.

Exactly this! THE main reason Dems are desperate to either stop or at least slow down all these mass deportations. The crucial votes they've been depending on to cheat in close races are being wiped away, and it's driving them nuts.

The choices were:
