You are more uncomfortable with guys on a message board not toting the WOKE message than I am of homosexuality. It's not even close. The fact that this is a hill you want to take your stand on is simply amazing to me. I would feel the same way if Offerman hooked up with a woman for the entire episode. Or if Ellie hooked up with a guy named Riley. It was unnecessary.

And I still just can't get over that embracing it will make you stronger and smarter.
SMH

I’m not uncomfortable with any of it. I’d just been following this thread prior to watching it and thought it was an over reaction on yours and others part. Show is entertaining but definitely not a big deal.

Sweetie, everybody on this thread knows who is more apt to cry about certain uncomfortable situations.

I don't think anybody on here has cried about episode 3 because it made them uncomfortable.
They simply said it wasn't needed and it didn't advance the story. And I agree with them.

Cool man. I don’t know about the sweetie thing but I thought about what I’d posted and deleted it. Sorry to make it personal at all.

Is it more hilarious than you knowing that?
It takes the bare minimum amount of research to learn that Ellie is not straight. I've never played the game before if I'm gonna devote time to watch hours worth of a show, I'm gonna at least look into the source material a little bit.

I started watching Peaky Blinders on Netflix last week and I totally forgot to do the minimum research necessary to figure out what LGBT........ letter every member of the cast identified with.

But knock yourself out bub. You got a lot more free time than I do.
Congrats.

That’s an absolutely amazing story, thanks for sharing. I hope Peaky Blinders doesn’t trigger you as much.

Only thing that got triggered was my hysterical amazement that a person would research characters to find out what letter community they belong to. Kudos to you bro.
Never said that I was specifically looking up the sexuality of characters before I watch a show. I couldn’t care less about that so don’t try to put words in my mouth. All I was saying was that a simple google search can lead you to discover plenty of things one of which being that a central figure in a show that you could be interested in happens to be gay. It’s really not that deep.

Do you do the same for movies? Restaurants? Bars? Sports teams you could be interested in?

The fact that you think it warrants a simple google search tells me all I need to know about you kid.
Just let it go and let's just agree to disagree that it's something one should do in preparation of watching something new.

I mean I’m fine to agree to disagree, just seems strange to me how the fact that I google things before I decide to dedicate my time to those things says all that you need to know about me? I didn’t think it was out of the ordinary to look up movie reviews before I spend money to go see them.

KC has some great restaurants. I've spent 5 weeks there so not exactly a long stay but enough to look it over pretty good.

A man would think he could get a damn fine steak there, and listen to some pretty decent jazz.

This ain’t 1960. I can get a good steak pretty much everywhere. But when I was in Kansas City I saw tumbleweeds blowing through downtown. Can’t get that everywhere.

Just got caught up and the show is entertaining as hell but the episodes are a little formulaic. Probably because they’re based on cut scenes from a video game. Also the Henry storyline seems as irrelevant to the overall story as Offerman’s. Should that have been a part of it? Basically another point a to point b journey with world building elements. Wrapped up nice and neat by everyone being killed except for the protagonists. I didn’t mind either one but since the relevance to the overall story/journey seemed to be a point of contention I thought I’d ask why the one is ok and not the other.

Her trying to heal him, and then Henry killing himself after having to kill his brother actually begins the path of Joel seeing ellie as less of a package and more his kid. It also starts to get rid of ellie's naivete. It scarred her.

Great response. Her naivete was a little thick until this point. Her toughening up has been a great arc.

Kills me this is over. Joel is one of my favorite characters ever. I think because he reminds me so much of the two biggest movie stars by far of my childhood: he looks just like Burt Reynolds and talks a lot like Clint Eastwood.

Pedro is surly and yet engaging. Great when he doesn't have the line and is just reacting to the other actor. I am going to miss this show.

Did the first season cover the whole story of the video game or is there more story?

Giraffes don't survive below 50 degrees regardless of the game.

Joel driving to right instead of on the yellow lines is pathetic.
Whenever I see something like that in a show, I always think about the last lines of the Mystery Science Theater 3000 theme song...

If you're wondering how he eats and breathes
And other science facts (la la la),
Then repeat to yourself, "It's just a show,
I should really just relax

For Mystery Science Theater 3000!"

Glad those zombies were there to beat on a door, crawl like a bear and then get to someone that’s pregnant but let the baby survive. Again, i like the show, but zombies are stupid.

And after 20 years, there ought to be millions of bison running around vs. giraffes. Then food hunting wouldn't be so hard.

It was ok I guess. Joel being a psychopath in the final episode felt odd to me. Just overall felt it was an ok show and not sure if I’ll keep watching in the future honestly.

Told my wife that unlike TWD where there were enormous herds of the dead that would consume a lot of wildlife, that didn't seem to be the situation in this world. Therefore, you'd think that there would be deer, elk, bison, squirrels and rabbits trampling over each other to a point that you'd have to elbow them out of the way if you went for a walk.

Yep. HBO signed off on a Season 2 after the 2nd episode because this show is a juggernaut hit. Probably 2025 for the release date. Everyone important including the production team is coming back is the talk right now.
